Restoration Design for Porsche

Restoration Design was established in the late 1980's. Originating from Eaton Rapids, MI. The deJonge family acquired the business in 2009 when they were having difficulties sourcing accurate replacement panels for their own restorations. Restoration Design, now based in Guelph Ontario, is a manufacturing facility producing high quality rust repair and complete replacement panels for vintage Porsche automobiles. Original panels often suffer from deep corrosion, previous patch repairs, distortion from jacking and accident damage, leading to MOT failures or poor panel gaps.

Middle Section — Middle-section repair panels address corrosion or damage in floorpans, sills and central chassis areas, often on older or high-mileage Porsches. Problems include rust in floorpans, jacking points and inner sills, as well as previous patch repairs that are not to factory standard or have failed.

Rear Section — Rear-section panels are needed where the back of the chassis or body has suffered accident damage, corrosion around suspension mounts, or modifications that need to be reversed. Common issues include rust around rear crossmembers, suspension pickup points, exhaust hangers and bumper mounts, as well as distortion after rear-end impacts.

  • Verify whether the rear section is specific to coupe, cabriolet or Targa, and whether it includes key mounting points such as suspension and bumper fixings.
  • Check if the engine or rear subassemblies must be removed for safe access and welding before planning the job.

Door Panels | Hinges | Striker Plates — Door panels, hinges and striker plates are replaced to correct sagging doors, poor shut lines and worn interiors, or after accident damage. Common issues include doors dropping, creaking hinges, worn latch plates, misaligned panels and trim damage from years of use.

  • Use hinge and striker adjustment to fine-tune door alignment and shut lines; expect some trial fitting before final tightening.
  • Confirm side (left/right), body style compatibility and whether new bolts and clips are supplied, or if you need additional hardware.
