Our innovative Y-Pipe design is not only larger but also utilizes "non-round" runners, an optimized merge collector area and our proven dimpled interior surfacing. This superior design delivers greater volume of air, improved laminar flow and increased air velocity. These improvements deliver an additional 35+ wheel HP, 40+ Foot Pounds of Torque, improved boost response and more linear power and torque curves.



As we all know, bigger is not always better when it comes to forced induction applications. The IPD Y-Pipe is considerably larger than the factory but not so large as to cause pressure drop within the intake tract resulting in turbo lag and reduced performance. This optimized "no-round" design with dimpled interior surface cannot be achieved with conventional round tube construction.

The 991 Turbo Y-Pipe is a direct bolt-on engine upgrade that requires no modifications but should be perform by an experienced Porsche technician familiar with the 991 platform. Y-Pipes comes with all the required hardware necessary to complete the installation.

The 991 Turbo Eventuri intake system was developed through extensive real world testing with the aim of allowing the turbos to work more efficiently. By replacing the single stock airbox with individual patented Venturi filter housings, the turbos are able to spool and generate boost with less drag. As a result, the wastegate duty cycles are reduced resulting in peak boost at lower RPM and therefore performance is increased. The two individual filters provide a larger filtration area as compared to the single stock panel filter. Furthermore, in order to keep inlet air temperatures down, the Venturi housings are sealed against an air duct which draws ambient air from the same location as the stock system. Since the 911 Turbo engine bay is densely packed, high IATs can only be avoided by ensuring a fully sealed intake system. The combination of a smoother airflow path to each turbo with low IATs results in higher performance and a sharper throttle response over the stock airbox.

The Eventuri Difference

The 911 Turbo Eventuri system uses our Patented Carbon Fibre Housings with our Gen 2 bespoke filters, which provide an aerodynamically efficient airflow path from the filter to the turbos. Not just another cone filter with a heat shield but a unique design which invokes the Venturi affect and maintains laminar flow conditions to reduce the drag on the turbo.

INTAKE HOUSING ASSEMBLY
The filter housings comprise of our bespoke generation 2 filters, aluminium inlet cowls, the carbon pods and integrated tubes. The carbon pods shroud the reverse mounted filters and smoothly shape the airflow down to the stock turbo inlet tubes. By separating the inlet path and having a dedicated filter for each turbo, the intake allows the turbos to function more efficiently. Crucially, the Venturi housings organically extend with a smooth curve from the filter opening to the stock turbo tubing. This ensures that the airflow remains as smooth as possible throughout the system. Smooth airflow results in less drag and therefore the turbos can reach peak boost sooner in the RPM range. It also means that the throttle response feels sharper.

PATENTED TECHNOLOGY

Our patented filter housings have a smooth reduction in cross sectional area as they shroud the filters and taper down to the tubing. This geometry invokes the Venturi effect where the airflow accelerates whilst maintaining laminar conditions. It can be thought of as a large velocity stack - below is a diagram to show the comparison between our patented design and a regular intake system. Our bespoke filters aid the airflow moving through the housings and allow for an even velocity profile as the airflow exits the housings.

INTAKE DUCT
The intake duct seals against the underside of the boot-lid using the stock rubber cushion and then extends down to seal against the filter housings. Crafted from 100% prepreg carbon fiber the intake duct ensures that the intake pulls in ambient air only and not heated engine bay air. Again in order to maximise flow efficiency the transition from the circular openings for the filter housings to the single air entry point is as smooth as possible. The duct also features 2 drain tubes which direct water away from the filters. The tubes are designed such that the intakes will draw a minimum amount of air from within the engine bay due to the larger flow resistance in the tubes as compared to the opening at the top of the duct. The complex geometry of the duct was necessary to clear the various components in the engine bay of the 991 Turbo.

BRACKET WORK
The brackets are laser cut from stainless steel and powder coated. We went to great lengths to ensure that the intakes have a precision fitment using the stock airbox mounting locations. The brackets not only brace the intakes to the chassis but also allow engine components to be secured as they are with the stock airbox. In order to save weight, each bracket has purposely shaped cutouts which remove material yet allow the overall structure to remain rigid.

The complete system comes together to provide an audible and noticeable performance improvement over the stock airbox system.

It was a real challenge developing new turbo intake hoses for the 991 Turbo. The lack of space made it really difficult to make a set of hoses that would outflow the stock plastic pipes. We succeeded but in some smaller areas we had to compromise and allow these hoses to have no clearance, so they will push or rub in some non-sensitive areas.

About the intercoolers: Right from the beginning we realised that we could not sacrifice anything to keep the cost down we just had to do the best possible in the space available in the car!

First of all we made a lot of investigation and comparisons between different core types and at last really fell for a high density motorsport core which have great cooling efficiency along with a low weight.

With a great core in place we started to refine the end tank design which brought us to a decision to make cast end tanks as we could then control the air flow distribution over the core in a very precise way. This is very important as a good tank design will be beneficial for both pressure drop and cooling efficiency.

To be able to fit an intercooler with appropriate thickness for the job it was also necessary to design a new upper ambient air guide. This was designed in our 3D scanned environment to ensure perfect fit to the vehicle integrated air guides and our intercooler.

To achieve the best air flow distribution over the core we made intercooler end tanks with 70 mm (2 3/4 inch) connections which then made it necessary to design custom silicone hoses for all positions. The hoses are 3D designed with airflow in mind where we CFD tested each hose during development to ensure best possible flow rate of all parts! The hoses between turbocharger and intercooler are special silicone hoses that can withstand up to 240°C (464°F) continuous temperature!

Another important aspect for cooling performance are to use all ambient cooling air available, to optimize this part we include air block rubber seals for all surfaces where the ambient air guides must seal properly.

Using this design in building our intercoolers the weight increase compared to the OEM ones is relatively small considering the size of our intercooler and that its all made of aluminium. Our intercooler weight is 5,4 kg (11,9 lb) per piece and the 991 OEM intercooler weights 3,1 kg (6,8 lb) per piece. It might sound like a big weight increase but compared to other actors on the market with intercoolers in this size it's a low weight!

At the same time as our intercoolers lower the intake temperature, they also flow better than the 991 original intercoolers! Please have a look at the air flow rates at different pressure drops in the graph below where we compared our intercooler with hoses to the original intercooler with hoses in our own Superflow SF-1020 Probench to verify the final result!

Keep in mind that the OEM intercoolers was designed for only the power level the car was built for originally. A power increase may cause your stock intercoolers to not be efficient enough. So even on an engine with a software tune only or using your car in hot climate the do88 performance intercooler kit will give a performance increase over the OEM intercoolers!

Our pipe has both a very good flow rate and a low weight which is accommodated by composing mandrel bent lightweight pipes with a high quality 3D freeform designed cast joint between them. Onto the cast part we then weld CNC-machined connections for bov and breather hoses. This construction technique adds a lot of performance but only a touch of extra weight. The pipes are then finished in a high quality powder coat that makes them look as good as they perform!

When it comes to air flow performance our Y-pipe totally outperforms the OEM Y-pipe by 58% increased flow at the same pressure drop! Be aware of that the OEM parts are only designed for the power level the car was built for originally. A power increase may cause your stock Y pipe to hold back the power of your engine. So even on an engine with a software tune only the do88 performance Y-pipe will give a performance increase over the OEM Y-pipe!

In the beginning of the development process of this product we spent a lot of time thinking what would be the preferred way to build a Y-pipe and here is the result of our conclusions and development process.

Our pipe has both a very good flow rate and a low weight which is accommodated by composing mandrel bent lightweight pipes with a high quality 3D freeform designed cast joint between them. Onto the cast part we then weld CNC-machined connections for bov and breather hoses. This construction technique adds a lot of performance but only a touch of extra weight. The kit also includes 2 high quality custom designed silicone hoses which are available in two different versions. Which version you need depends on if you will install the y-pipe together with the OEM intercoolers or the do88 performance intercoolers.

do88 proudly presents the worlds first high flowing turbo inlet hoses for Porsche 991.1 / 991.2 Turbo. Self developed by do88 in Sweden !

• Much larger overall inner diameter for improved air flow, 31 % higher! (see graph diagram ). The hoses have a 2,5 inch (63mm) inner diameter at the narrowest location.
• Smooth flow transitions.
• Very smooth internal surface for best air flow.
• Excellent thermal properties, the hoses will not absorb heat from the engine.
• The hoses are reinforced with stainless steel wire to eliminate the risk of implosion on high out-takes.

It was a real challenge developing new turbo intake hoses for the 991 Turbo. The lack of space made it really difficult to make a set of hoses that would outflow the stock plastic pipes. We succeeded but in some smaller areas we had to compromise and allow these hoses to have no clearance, so they will push or rub in some non-sensitive areas.

We can ensure you the sensation while driving is very different. The improvement in throttle response is immense, making the car feel so much more refined and alert. This upgrade makes it become what it should have been from the start. This is an improvement no test figures can explain, it has to be perceived behind the wheel of a 991 turbo!

do88 are proud to present our newly developed Y-pipe kit for 991 Turbos - With this extreme high flow Y-pipe kit the performance of your 991 will increase!

In the beginning of the development process of this product we spent a lot of time thinking what would be the preferred way to build a Y-pipe and here is the result of our conclusions and development process.

Our pipe has both a very good flow rate and a low weight which is accommodated by composing mandrel bent lightweight pipes with a high quality 3D freeform designed cast joint between them. Onto the cast part we then weld CNC-machined connections for bov and breather hoses. This construction technique adds a lot of performance but only a touch of extra weight. The pipes are then finished in a high quality powder coat that makes them look as good as they perform!

The kit also includes 2 high quality custom designed silicone hoses which are available in two different versions. Which version you need depends on if you will install the y-pipe together with the OEM intercoolers or the do88 performance intercoolers.

When it comes to air flow performance our Y-pipe totally outperforms the OEM Y-pipe by 58% increased flow at the same pressure drop! Be aware of that the OEM parts are only designed for the power level the car was built for originally. A power increase may cause your stock Y pipe to hold back the power of your engine. So even on an engine with a software tune only the do88 performance Y-pipe will give a performance increase over the OEM Y-pipe!
