About OE Match

OE Match for Porsche

OE Match is a brand that provides a wide range of Porsche components, from gaskets to suspension hardware, engine parts, and interior trim. Over 6,700 individual part numbers, and over 11,800 OE cross-references catalogued, and are constantly developing new lines.OE Match has over 100 new products currently in the engineering phase, which will be quality-controlled and added to their catalog. The mission is to keep all Porsche vehicles on the road by offering a vast selection of parts that can address various problems across different Porsche generations.

A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Impulse / speed reference sensor.

Fits:
Porsche 964 1989-94  (requires ADAPTORKIT01)
Porsche 993 1995-98 (requires  ADAPTORKIT01)
Porsche 996 Turbo 2001-05 (6-speed Manual transmission)

Please note: this part has been changed by Porsche and you may require adaptor kit for plug connector.

Replacement crankshaft position sensor also known as an impulse or pulse sender. The crankshaft position sensor continuously monitors the rotational speed and position of the crankshaft as it spins. This information is transmitted as a signal to the engine control unit (ECU), which uses it to control key functions like ignition timing, fuel injection timing, and engine speed cues. Without a properly functioning sensor, the ECU may not be able to accurately time spark and fuel delivery, which can cause poor performance, rough idling, misfires, or failure to start.

The crankshaft position sensor is vital to engine management accuracy. If it fails or generates inconsistent signals, the ECU may not be able to properly time spark and fuel delivery, leading to:
Poor engine performance
•  Stalling, rough idle, or hesitation
•  Hard starting or no-start conditions
•  Fault codes related to timing or crank sensor errors
Replacing a worn or failed sensor restores accurate rotational feedback to the ECU, helping maintain engine drivability and reliability.

Replace the crankshaft position sensor if you notice:
•  Engine misfires or rough idle
•  Stalling or limp performance
•  Engine won’t start but cranks
•  Diagnostic codes related to crank position
  Inconsistent tachometer readings

Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor

The OE Match Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor is a critical component responsible for monitoring the position and rotational speed of the crankshaft. This data is sent directly to the engine control unit (ECU), allowing it to precisely manage fuel injection, ignition timing, and other essential engine functions. Without accurate crankshaft information, the ECU cannot properly control spark or fuel timing, leading to poor performance—or preventing the engine from running altogether.

Crankshaft position sensors typically use either magnetic or Hall-effect technology. Magnetic sensors generate a signal with a coil and magnet as the engine rotates, while Hall-effect sensors rely on a semiconductor that detects changes in magnetic fields. These sensors are commonly located near the crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer or by the flywheel, depending on the engine design. They read notches or teeth on a reluctor (tone wheel) to create a signal the ECU can interpret.

Over time, heat, vibration, and contamination from oil, dirt, or metal debris can compromise the sensor’s internal circuitry, leading to inaccurate or lost signals. When the sensor begins to fail, drivability issues often follow—including stalling, rough idle, misfires, or a complete no-start condition.

Symptoms of a Failing Crankshaft Position Sensor

• No-Start Condition

If the ECU does not receive a valid RPM signal from the sensor, the engine cannot start.

• Stalling When Warm

A failing sensor often causes the engine to stall when coming to a stop once it reaches operating temperature.

• Erratic or Dead Tachometer

Some older vehicles rely on the crankshaft sensor for tachometer readings. Strange tach behavior combined with running issues may point to CPS failure.

• Diagnostic Trouble Code P0335

A failing internal circuit may trigger code P0335, although not all faulty sensors will cause a check engine light.

• Poor Performance at Certain RPMs

Intermittent or out-of-range signals can cause timing drift, leading to performance issues—often more noticeable at high RPM or idle.

• Misfires Across Multiple Cylinders

Because the CPS affects overall ignition and fuel timing, failure can lead to misfires across all cylinders, unlike coil or injector failures that typically affect just one.

Fastening nut for steering wheel.

Fits:
Porsche 356A - 1955 to 1959

This is a new steering wheel hexagon nut, just like the original nut where it has the step indentation. CnC machined to the correct depth to allow the steering wheel to have several mm of teeth on the nut to tighten correctly as this is very important. This is the most crucial nut needed to tighten the steering wheel on your Porsche 356A so get the right nut and finish that restoration project right.
