97062013201/1KIT
Product Information
Product Information

Fuel pump kit by OE Match/Kits for Porsche Panamera 970 MK1 and MK2 3.6L and 4.8L models without auxiliary heater (without option I850/I851), using OE references 97062013201 and 97020142403, designed for selected V6 and V8 variants from 2009–2016.

What This Product Does This kit provides the main fuel pump and associated components to deliver fuel from the tank to the engine at the specified pressure and flow. Correct fuel supply supports stable starting, smooth running, and consistent performance across everyday and higher load driving.

Functions

  • Supplies fuel from the tank to the engine
  • Maintains system fuel pressure within specified limits
  • Supports efficient combustion under varying load
  • Helps minimise hesitation, surging, or cutting out from fuel starvation
  • Integrates with existing fuel lines, filters, and control electronics

Symptoms of Fault

  • Long cranking or intermittent no-start, especially when hot
  • Hesitation, surging, or loss of power at higher revs or under load
  • Stalling at junctions or when accelerating
  • Whining or humming noise from the fuel tank area
  • Engine running lean or fuel pressure testing below specification
  • Pump not priming or operating consistently

Why Replacement Matters Fuel pump wear, contamination, or electrical issues can reduce fuel flow and pressure, leading to poor drivability, misfires, or non-start conditions. Replacing the pump and key supporting parts together helps restore reliable fuel delivery and reduce repeat labour where ageing components are involved. Kits that follow OE specification are selected to support correct fit and function on the intended Panamera 970 applications.

FAQs

  • Q: Is this kit vehicle-specific?
A: It is intended for listed Porsche Panamera 970 3.6L and 4.8L models without auxiliary heater. Always confirm model year, engine, and option codes such as I850/I851 before purchase.
  • Q: What other parts should be checked when replacing the fuel pump?
A: Inspect fuel filters, strainers, hoses, relays, and electrical connectors for restriction, damage, or poor contact that could affect pump operation.
  • Q: Can similar symptoms come from other components?
A: Yes, blocked filters, failing relays, low voltage supply, or pressure regulator faults can mimic a weak pump, so testing fuel pressure and electrical supply is recommended.

Porsche - a sports car manufacturer that has "raceborn" in its DNA. The perpetual aspiration of lightweight construction and sporty driving is therefore embedded in every development.

With the historic ignition starter switch, Porsche has developed a homage to historic races and has set itself the task of preserving the Porsche tradition of the "ignition key on the left". It was designed together with Studio F.A. Porsche Zell am See. Visually, it is reminiscent of the historic key head as used in the sports prototypes. For optimum stability and durability, it was milled from a single piece of aluminium. In order to protect the material, but also to recall the silver look of the aluminium bodies from the early days of Porsche motorsport, it was anodised in a clear finish. With 5 holes, finished with a Porsche logo on both sides, the historic ignition starter switch brings a touch of racing history to the Porsche sports cars of today.

Why Electrical & Relay Parts Are Essential

Every Porsche relies on dozens of electrical relays and switches to perform everyday tasks — from starting the engine to operating windows, wipers, and lights.

These components:

  • Control critical functions like fuel delivery, ignition, and braking systems
  • Provide comfort and convenience through powered windows, seats, and sunroofs
  • Enhance safety with airbags, alarms, hazard systems, and warning lights

When these parts fail, even simple issues can leave your Porsche unsafe or unusable.

Common Electrical Faults & Signs to Watch For Include

  • Windows or mirrors stop responding
  • Wipers fail or move erratically
  • Warning lights staying on or not illuminating
  • Car struggles to start or cuts out unexpectedly
  • Intermittent failures in lighting, indicators, or fuel systems
  • Burning smell or clicking noises near relays/fuse boxes

Replacing Electrical Relays in Your Porsche

Relays are small but vital components. They control high-current circuits such as fuel pumps, fans, and headlights. Over time, relays can wear out due to heat and repeated use.

  • When to replace: At the first sign of electrical failure, clicking noises, or intermittent performance.
  • How to replace: Locating relays often requires professional diagnosis, as they may be buried in fuse panels or control units.
  • Result: Once replaced, the affected system should return to normal operation immediately.

Porsche Electrical Component Wear, Fault Patterns and Maintenance Guide

Porsche electrical components experience wear and degradation over time due to mileage, age, heat exposure, vibration and environmental factors. The table below highlights typical inspection intervals and common fault symptoms for key Porsche electrical parts, helping owners and technicians diagnose issues early and maintain reliable system operation.

Component Typical Service or Inspection Interval Common Signs of Wear
Electrical Relays Inspect every 5–8 years Intermittent faults, systems failing to activate
Fuses Inspect during routine servicing Blown circuits, non-functioning accessories
Ignition Switch 80,000–120,000 miles No-start issues, accessories cutting out
Wiring Harnesses Inspect every 10+ years Warning lights, intermittent electrical faults
Fuel Pumps 70,000–110,000 miles Hard starting, hesitation, pump nois
Brake & Clutch Switches 60,000–100,000 miles Brake lights not working, cruise control faults
Window Switches & Motors 8–12 years Slow operation, windows not responding
Wiper Motors & Switches 80,000–120,000 miles Inoperative wipers, irregular sweep speed
Dashboard & Control Switches 8–15 years Flickering displays, inoperative controls
Alarms & Tracking Systems Inspect every 5–7 years False alarms, battery drain, signal loss
Air Bag Electrical Components Inspect during diagnostics Warning lights, stored fault code
