The second generation, the 971.1 Panamera 4S was introduced as a 2017 model year car, with the full suite of variants available right from the start. All models received a visual update and numerous improvements across the board. The sleek design of a four-door coupe, combined with refined exterior details, rewarded those who trusted and waited for Porsche. It resembled a stretched 911, but with the engine positioned in the front. One of the standout design elements was the standard 4-LED headlights, adding to the car's appeal. The 971.1 Panamera 4S came equipped with 19-inch light-alloy wheels and offered standard color options of black and white.

The infotainment system could be upgraded with either a Bose or a Burmester premium sound system for enhanced audio quality. Pairing with a smartphone was possible through a dedicated Porsche app, though Android Auto was not supported. The 971.1 Panamera 4S featured a twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic PDK (Porsche dual-clutch) transmission and all-wheel drive. The engine produced 434bhp at 5650 rpm and 406 ft-lbs of torque at 1750 rpm, enabling a 0-60 mph time of just 4.2 seconds and a top speed approaching 180 mph.
