The 95B.1 Macan S debuted as part of the initial Macan launch, boasting a robust 3.0ltr V6 twin-turbo petrol engine delivering 335 hp. This model also featured an active all-wheel-drive system with an electronically controlled, map-controlled multi-plate clutch, a standard across all Macan variants. Paired with the engine was a seven-speed double-clutch transmission, the sole transmission option available.
With power reaching 335bhp @ 5500 rpm and torque measuring 339 ft lbs @ 1450 rpm, the Macan S showcased impressive performance credentials. It achieved a top speed of 158 mph and sprinted from zero to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds (with the Sport Chrono package). The Macan S displayed nimble handling characteristics, offering a delightful driving experience along winding roads and challenging curves, prompting a reconsideration of traditional sedan or sports car preferences. Furthermore, its ride quality struck a fine balance between sportiness and daily comfort, ensuring enjoyable everyday usability.
Standard equipment for the Macan S included a choice between 18- or 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, privacy glass, automatic bi-xenon headlights with auto-leveling and cleaners, LED running lights, fog lights, automatic wipers, cruise control, tri-zone automatic climate control, and leather/simulated suede upholstery. It also featured eight-way power front seats with memory settings, 40/20/40-split-folding rear seats, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, a 7-inch touchscreen, and an 11-speaker audio system with a CD player and iPod/USB audio interface.
Additionally, Porsche offered various interior enhancements, including full leather seat upholstery and/or cabin trim, 10-way power front seats with four-way power lumbar support, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, rear side sunshades, smartphone app integration, a 16-speaker Burmester audio system, rear-seat entertainment, voice-command functionality, satellite radio, and HD radio. Optional packages like the Sport Chrono package and an electronic logbook for recording driving data further enhanced the driving experience. Porsche also provided a wide selection of available color-matched and leather-swathed interior trim pieces for added personalization.
