In a nod to its rich racing heritage, Porsche revived the 718 name for its 982-generation Cayman S platform, evoking the spirit of the diminutive race car that dominated the Targa Florio races in 1959 and 1960. This move was accompanied by a transition from naturally aspirated flat-6 engines to turbocharged flat-4 2.5ltr engines.
Looking for more power? The 718 Cayman S now boasts a new 2.5ltr turbocharged boxer 4-cylinder engine. With 345 bhp @ 6500 rpm and a robust 310 ft lbs @ 1900 rpm of torque, it surpasses its predecessor, the 981 Cayman S, in both power and performance. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.0 seconds and completing the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds flat, the 718 Cayman S offers a significant improvement in speed. Mated to a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission, along with various performance enhancements like PASM Sport Suspension and Sport Chrono package mechanical limited-slip differential with Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), Sport Exhaust System, the 718 Cayman offers exhilarating performance and precise handling for driving enthusiasts.
