What This Product Does:

  • Acts as a cushion / buffer / pad between the outer door handle and the door body or internal support. The pad helps absorb minor contact stress, reduce wear, and provide a snug fit.
  • Helps reduce noise, vibration, and chatter when the handle is operated or the door vibrates (e.g. while driving).
  • Provides a clean interface — covering the contact area, giving better fit and finish around the handle.
  • Prevents metal / plastic parts rubbing directly, which can lead to wear, paint damage, or deterioration.

Symptoms / Signs Of A Failing Buffer / Pad:
  • The door handle feels loose or “soft” — not tight against the door when operating.
  • Noise when opening/closing – rattles, chatter, or slight “clunk” at the outer handle area.
  • The buffer / pad is cracked, missing, worn, or deformed.
  • Visible gaps or misalignment around the base of the handle.
  • Wear marks, paint damage, or abrasion on the door skin where pad used to be.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Restores the proper snug fit of the exterior handle, improving tactile feel and door operation.
  • Reduces rattles, vibration, and noise from the handle area under movement or stress.
  • Protects the door panel and finish by preventing rubbing or contact damage.
