Boost Recirculation Valve. Sold as SINGLE - 2 required per engine

forge

Fits:
Porsche 997 Turbo

The 997TT Boost Recirculation Valve is a direct replacement for the OEM unit and features an improved and more efficient design. Our BRV is CNC machined from aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminium, hard anodized and utilizes military spec Viton™ O-rings. Our CAD designed BRV employs the same operating principal from our 996TT piston diverter valve which has been successfully operating for nearly 8 years.
Combining our successful design principles, stringent theoretical computer and real world testing, the 997TT BRV eliminates issues of boost leaks and diaphragm sticking and deterioration that is consistent with the OEM valve in higher than stock horsepower applications.

About Diverter Valves

Porsche Diverter Valves - Turbo Pressure Control & Performance Upgrades

Diverter Valves are critical components in turbocharged Porsche engines, responsible for managing excess boost pressure when the throttle closes. By safely redirecting pressurised air back into the intake system, diverter valves protect the turbocharger, maintain boost response, and improve drivability.

Available from Design911, Porsche diverter valve upgrades are engineered to provide faster response, improved sealing, and greater durability than standard factory valves—making them essential for tuned, high-boost, and performance-driven applications.

What Do Diverter Valves Do?

Diverter valves regulate boost pressure during throttle changes in turbocharged engines.

Core Functions:

  • Release excess boost pressure when the throttle closes.
  • Protect turbochargers from compressor surge.
  • Maintain turbo speed and boost response.
  • Improve drivability during gear changes.
  • Support consistent power delivery.

Proper diverter valve operation is vital for turbo reliability and performance.

Why Do Diverter Valves Fail?

Factory diverter valves are often built with plastic housings and rubber diaphragms, which can degrade over time. Common failure causes include:

  • Diaphragm tearing or splitting under boost.
  • Heat-related material degradation.
  • Increased boost pressure from tuning.
  • Slow valve response causing boost loss.
  • Age-related wear and fatigue.

Failed diverter valves can result in loss of boost, hesitation, reduced performance, and turbocharger stress.

Why Upgrade to a Performance Diverter Valve?

Performance diverter valves are designed to handle higher boost levels with improved reliability.

Upgrade Benefits:

  • Stronger construction using billet aluminium or reinforced materials.
  • Improved sealing for consistent boost retention.
  • Faster valve response for smoother power delivery.
  • Increased durability for tuned and high-boost engines.
  • Enhanced turbocharger protection.

Upgrading diverter valves restores performance and safeguards turbo components.

Highlights

  • Porsche performance diverter valve upgrades
  • Improved boost control and turbo protection
  • Designed for tuned and high-boost engines
  • Faster response and improved durability
  • Essential upgrade for turbocharged Porsches
