Side section / Sub frame
Complete set (4 pcs). 2 sets needed for one car.

Fits:
Porsche 993 1995-98 all models
Increase rear end stability and extend the life of your alignment with High Density subframe mounts. Factory units can cause rear ends to become more 'twitchy' and nervous, especially under high suspension loads, especially as they begin to fail. These bushings are not only responsible for holding the entire rear subframe to the shell, but for locating it in relation to the body and other suspension components. This means that even if they have not totally fallen apart the stock, soft mounts can often allow the entire rear suspension to shift and realign itself and as a result your entire car. Made from heavy duty high durometer rubber which features a 25% increase in stiffness over OE units, our High Density bushing kit includes the aluminum inner core and outer casement making them a plug and play solution for your 993. Enjoy a more planted rear end and stop living at the alignment shop with this full rear subframe kit.

What This Product Does:
- Isolate Vibration & Noise - They provide a cushioning interface between the rigid subframe and the softer body shell, helping absorb road vibrations, shock, and noise.
- Locate the Subframe Precisely - The bushings restrict movement of the subframe in certain directions, maintaining alignment and preventing unwanted shifts under load (acceleration, braking, cornering).
- Allow Controlled Flexibility - While they restrain gross motion, they permit some small movement / compliance to avoid excessive stress on the chassis or suspension components, especially as the car moves over bumps or under torque loads.
- Support Rear-End Stability & Handling - Because the subframe holds rear suspension geometry (arms, links, differential, etc.), worn or soft bushings allow variation in alignment under load, reducing precision and stability.
- Clunks, knocks, or bangs from the rear over bumps, especially during acceleration or deceleration.
- Loose or imprecise handling / rear-end movement under cornering or sudden load change.
- Rear stability issues such as traction irregularities or feeling the car “wander” or “step out” when pushing hard.
- Poor alignment retention — alignment specs (camber, toe) may shift after driving or under load, requiring frequent re-adjustment.
- Vibration or harshness through the chassis, especially at the rear, more transmitted through the body.
- Visible deterioration like cracks, splits or deformation in the rubber, excessive flex / play when the car is raised, or separation between inner and outer portions of the bushing.
- Restores rear-end precision — new bushings ensure the subframe is held firmly and accurately, improving handling and chassis response.
- Better alignment stability — new bushings keep suspension settings stable, reducing need for frequent alignment checks or changes.

Factory rubber suspension mounts have a lot of flexibility and cannot withstand the extreme loads applied to them during performance driving conditions. When these mounts flex, all of the suspension geometry changes making the car unstable and unpredictable. A very popular suspension upgrade is to replace these bushings with solid mounts like the ones found on the factory race cars. These kits are machined out of billet aluminium and come with the required hardware to install.

Stock rubber bushings compress and deform under heavy cornering, braking, and acceleration loads. The compliant rubber bushings allow the entire rear subframe shift about relative to the chassis. Rear camber and toe settings wander along with the subframe making the car less predictable, less stable in turns.
Our solid bushings replace the compliant rubber and do not deform under cornering loads, keeping the subframe in position and alignment true even under heavy cornering loads. The car becomes more predictable and easier to drive fast.
Corrects Geometry
Raises the subframe by 10mm to improve geometry and camber curve on lowered cars.
Build Quality
Each bushing consists of two pieces… identical upper and lower pucks.
Each piece is precision machined from high-strength aluminium with an anodized finish for protection.

Porsche Suspension Side Section / Subframe | Design911 Structural Components for Strength, Alignment & Stability
The suspension side section or subframe is one of the most critical structural elements in your Porsche’s chassis. It provides a rigid foundation that connects the suspension arms, steering rack, and drivetrain components to the vehicle body — maintaining alignment, stability, and precise handling. A solid subframe ensures the suspension geometry stays true under load, delivering predictable steering response and confidence-inspiring control at all speeds.
At Design911, we offer a complete range of suspension side sections and subframes, engineered for precision, durability, and strength. Manufactured from high-grade steel or aluminium, these components provide the rigidity required for both performance and safety. Whether you’re carrying out repairs, restorations, or performance upgrades, our subframes and side sections restore your Porsche’s structural integrity and suspension alignment.
What Do Suspension Side Sections / Subframes Do?
The subframe or side section acts as a structural mounting point for major suspension and drivetrain components. It absorbs stresses from braking, cornering, and acceleration while maintaining chassis alignment.
Core Functions:
• Supports the suspension arms, engine mounts, and steering assembly.
• Maintains precise geometry for accurate wheel alignment.
• Distributes load evenly through the chassis for stability.
• Reduces vibration and harshness for a smoother ride.
• Enhances handling balance, safety, and structural strength.
A correctly fitted and aligned subframe ensures your Porsche handles with precision and performs safely under all driving conditions.
Why Do Suspension Subframes or Side Sections Fail or Degrade?
Even though subframes are engineered for strength, years of stress, road conditions, and exposure to the elements can cause damage or deterioration.
Common Causes of Failure Include:
• Corrosion or rust weakening the metal structure.
• Cracks or deformation from road impacts or collisions.
• Fatigue from long-term stress and vibration.
• Worn mounting points causing alignment issues.
• Improper repairs or installation affecting structural integrity.
When a subframe or suspension side section fails, it can cause uneven tyre wear, poor alignment, steering instability, or suspension noise — all of which compromise safety and handling.
Why Replace or Upgrade Your Porsche Suspension Side Section / Subframe?
Replacing a damaged or corroded subframe restores chassis strength, alignment accuracy, and handling performance. Reinforced or upgraded components offer improved rigidity for demanding driving conditions.
Key Benefits:
• Restores proper suspension alignment and structural balance.
• Improves handling stability and steering precision.
• Eliminates vibration, flex, and unwanted movement.
• Manufactured from corrosion-resistant, high-strength materials.
• Fits Porsche 911, 944, 968, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, and Macan models.
• Perfect for restoration, servicing, or performance-focused upgrades.
Design911’s Porsche suspension side sections and subframes provide exceptional engineering and build quality — keeping your Porsche stable, responsive, and ready for the road or track.
