If you're serious about how your 993, 996, 997, Cayman, or Boxster handles, you should upgrade the rear suspension with adjustable control arm links. There are two major drawbacks to the factory links: 1) You can't lower your car and maintain proper suspension geometry. Split bushings are actually two separate bushings, each pressed in from opposite sides of the arm. Removing them requires driving them out from the parting line where they meet, in the center of the arm. This has traditionally been a difficult job that requires removing the arm and fumbling with a punch to try and drive out the bushings from the center.

Track Rods are one of the most critical pieces of a 993 rear suspension as these rods locate the rear spindle assembly.
