Evolution Header Set (Titanium) must be mounted together with:
• Slip-On Line (Titanium) system S-PO/TI/15
or
• Slip-On Race Line (Titanium) system S-PO/TI/8.
An additional original Porsche stock bracket (Porsche p/n: 99111147391) is required for mounting the Akrapovič exhaust system. Please read the instructions carefully before the start of the installation.
Evolution Header Set converts the slip-on system into a full system designed to give noticeably increased power at higher revs. Handcrafted titanium headers incorporate 100 cpsi sports catalytic convertors and side mufflers—all designed to increase power and torque—the Evolution Header Set utilizes integrated catalytic convertors and the functionality of the exhaust valves to deliver an out-and-out attack on the senses. With the valves in the open position, it delivers a sportier and hard-hitting sound, but also has the option of a lower sound level when the valves are closed, perfect for use in more everyday locations. Offering an increased weight savings in the area behind the engine and the rear axle, the reduction will enhance the handling and improve performance.
When installing Akrapovič aftermarket optional link pipes with sports catalytic converters or without catalytic converters, which are developed for use on closed tracks only, remapping the ECU is mandatory. When installing Akrapovič aftermarket exhaust system that was developed for use on closed tracks, we recommend remapping the ECU in order to prevent potential »check engine light« warning signals.
NOTE: Sports catalytic converters and bypass pipes do not have type approval and are not legally permitted for use on vehicles manufactured after 1st March 2001 in the United Kingdom. They are not MOT compliant and must not be used on public roads. These components are intended for race and track use only. HEADERS
For those individuals looking to maximize performance, shed over 25 lbs, and realize full sound potential a complete race system is a logical conclusion. By pursuing a full system replacement we can eliminate the restrictive cat assemblies, the “particulate filters”, and the giant 7 ⅝ connection point to the factory rear muffler assembly. A simple flange optimization to our previous generation GT3 Competition Headers allows us to get rid of the factory 991 gen connection point requiring costly OEM clamps and donut gaskets and utilize a more efficient v-band connection point.
Even a premier engineering masterpiece like the GT3 comes from Porsche fitted with exhaust manifolds restricted in terms of primary tubing length, runner diameter, and merge collection efficiency due to dense catalytic converters, mass production, and emission restriction compromises. By refining the interface between the flange/primary tubes, using smooth radius large diameter bends, and implementing performance oriented collectors with merge spikes, we have been able to achieve increased flow, response, and performance with a more aggressive exhaust note to match. A slip on merge collector was not considered to prevent any chances of exhaust leaks. Instead we focused on designing a high flow collector from CAD to CNC for a no compromise end result. This bespoke billet collector allows for maximized runner length and the elimination of several welds in the interest of durability.
REAR EXHAUST SECTION
The rear of the SOUL Race Exhaust System is optimized into a single, full 3″ flow. The design of the factory system includes very large catalytic converters terminating into a very heavy dual entry muffler with restrictive piping with variations throughout the flow path which hinder performance. Those seeking a race setup will appreciate the 25+lbs weight savings and concentration on increasing exhaust flow.
From there we dove into creating a header-back system to maintain maximum flow characteristics with a higher, smoother pitch and aggressiveness akin to an RSR race car. This full 3” diameter system is made from thick .065” wall T304L stainless steel and TIG welded with back purging to ensure it withstands hardcore track abuse. It’s also modular to allow interchanging between catless or high flow catted assemblies with minimal effect on exhaust velocity. After the catted/catless section, the exhaust flows into an X section where we took care to minimize the diameter reduction while maximizing the blend of the exhaust to create that higher smoother pitch you hear in the videos.
The electronic valve actuators can not be simply removed from the valves or else the car will throw a CEL and put it into a reduced rev limiter to 6k rpm. We have engineered valve simulators to allow removal of the valves! Simply plug the simulators into the factory valve harnesses and expect no check engine lights or issues!
SOUND
The SOUL Race Exhaust System transforms the 992 GT3’s sound into an authentic Cup Car experience. The X-pipe blend produces a higher-pitched, motorsport-style wail, delivering race-ready volume and tone that’s extreme for street use but perfectly suited for track driving. The result is an authoritative, spine-tingling exhaust note worthy of Porsche’s GT racing heritage.
POWER
Dyno testing conducted by Hydra Motor Works revealed substantial power gains:
• +23 whp / +19 ft-lbs torque with the SOUL Race Exhaust System alone
• +60 whp / +26 ft-lbs torque peak gains with the addition of a Hydra Stage 2 ECU tune
• Maximum observed gains: over +60 whp / +70 ft-lbs torque
These are exceptional results for a naturally aspirated engine—transforming throttle response, midrange pull, and top-end performance.
CONSTRUCTION
Each component is handcrafted in the USA from mandrel-bent .065″ wall T304L stainless steel. The billet 304L stainless steel head flanges and merge collectors are precision-cut on a 5-axis CNC machine for superior flow, strength, and accuracy.
All joints are TIG welded and back-purged with ARCAL™ Prime argon gas to ensure perfect weld penetration and long-term durability—essential for demanding track conditions.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
Because the factory catalytic converters are removed, this system may trigger a CEL. For competition use, an ECU calibration or tune is recommended.
