Formula:R Brake Pads – for your perfect braking point.

Compound Type:

OZ 10: suitable for long distance series and sprint distances; optimally tuned friction mixture for the rear axle, perfect in combination with the friction mixture OZ 20 or OZ 30 on the front axle.

The mixtures of the friction material of Formula:R brake pads are individually developed in cooperation with our racing team and are successfully tested in endurance racing. The durability of brake discs and brake pads are just as important as a stable friction coefficient, which ensures that the pads are extremely fading-resistant. To adapt the pads to the individual requirements of different drivers, different friction compounds are available for some applications.

Zimmermann has been manufacturing high-quality brake parts at the Sinsheim site for more than 60 years. Our brake parts are used successfully in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) under the extreme conditions at the Nürburgring and are constantly being further developed.

About Formula:R Racing Brake Disc

Zimmermann Formula:R Racing Brake Disc

The Zimmermann Formula:R racing brake disc range is the result of close collaboration with a Zimmermann-sponsored racing team. Developed specifically for circuit use, these composite discs are designed to deliver stable, repeatable braking on track-driven Porsche models and can, in some applications, be used as an alternative to very costly carbon-ceramic systems.

The discs use composite technology with a light metal hat and a high-carbon cast friction ring. By saving weight in the brake assembly – part of the unsprung mass – they contribute to a more agile, responsive feel from the chassis. Reducing unsprung weight helps the suspension follow the track surface more effectively, which can support traction and driver confidence in demanding race conditions.

Your advantages with Zimmermann Formula:R include a specially coated aluminium pot for a clean, durable appearance, and a friction ring engineered for high thermal capacity and efficient heat flow under sustained use. Internal ventilation with angled ribs is designed for optimal airflow and stability at temperature, while the distinctive Z-groove face design gives a purposeful, motorsport look and helps maintain a consistent disc surface when used with suitable racing pad compounds. These discs are developed exclusively for the race track and are not intended for everyday road use.

When should you review or replace your Porsche formula:r racing brake disc?

On track-driven Porsche models running Formula:R components, it is important to check disc condition regularly so you can spot cracking, heat damage or loss of thickness before it compromises consistent braking feel or leads to component failure. Racing discs work in a very demanding environment and should be inspected more frequently than road hardware.

  • Road discs may crack or lose performance when used at racing temperatures, making dedicated racing discs such as Formula:R a more appropriate choice for circuit use.
  • Visible heat checking, cracking around drill points or at the outer edge, blue or heavily burnt surfaces, or discs approaching minimum thickness indicate that replacement should be considered.
  • If you change to a different pad compound, tyre or suspension setup for racing, reviewing the discs at the same time helps maintain overall balance and consistency.
  • Any vibration, pulsing, or noticeable change in pedal feel under repeated hard use on track is a cue to inspect discs, pads and hubs and replace parts where necessary.

If any of these apply, it is a good time to review your Formula:R racing brake disc and replace anything that is past its best so your Porsche stays dependable and reassuring to drive on the circuit.
