Between October 1992 and 1995, Porsche introduced the "Club Sport" edition of the 968, tailored for performance enthusiasts seeking enhanced track capabilities. This variant prioritized performance over luxury, with many standard luxury features either removed or made optional. For instance, power windows were replaced with manual crank units, and the stereo system was downgraded. While options like A/C and sunroof remained, the emphasis shifted towards performance-oriented features.
In 1994 and 1995, Porsche offered a UK-exclusive version called the "968 Sport". Essentially, this was a Club Sport model equipped with various option packs from the 1994 model year, creating the P35 "CS UK Luxury Pack". These additions included an alarm, power windows/mirrors, electric release boot, central locking, sunroof, and cloth comfort front and rear seats. Despite the added electrics, the larger wiring loom was retained. The 968 Sport was cheaper than the standard 968, making it more accessible to buyers so consequently, it outsold the standard 968 coupés by a significant margin.
