What This Product Does:

  • Acts as a bearing surface / buffer between the throttle linkage rod and the bracket or console, allowing smooth pivoting / sliding motion.
  • Prevents direct metal-on-metal contact, reduces friction, and helps maintain alignment of the throttle linkage.
  • Helps maintain throttle precision: by keeping the linkage centered and supported, pedal input translates cleanly to throttle motion.
  • Absorbs small amounts of vibration / wear to protect surrounding parts.

Symptoms Of A Worn / Failing Throttle Bush:
  • Loose / sloppy throttle / accelerator pedal feel — play or lag before the throttle responds.
  • Inconsistent or delayed throttle response as the linkage “wanders” slightly before engaging.
  • Noise — clicking, squeaking, or clunking from the linkage area.
  • Visible wear or grooving on the throttle rod or bracket where the bush fits.
  • Binding or sticking if the linkage is slightly misaligned due to the worn bushing.

The Porsche Throttle Return Spring is a genuine OEM component designed to ensure reliable throttle response and safe operation. Installed in the throttle linkage assembly, this spring provides the tension needed to return the throttle plate to the closed position whenever the accelerator is released.

What This Product Does:

  • The Throttle Return Spring provides the force that pulls the throttle (or control linkage) back to its idle / closed position when the accelerator is released.
  • In a fuel injection or mixture control setup, such a spring keeps tension on the throttle and ensures the throttle plate or mixture valve returns reliably, preventing it from staying open or partially open.
  • It helps maintain consistent throttle behavior, ensures smooth transitions off-throttle, and prevents unwanted throttle creep.

Symptoms Of A Worn / Broken Return Spring:
  • The throttle may not return fully: the engine feels like it wants to hold higher RPM or won’t settle at idle.
  • Delayed or sluggish engine deceleration when releasing the accelerator.
