Grease for CV Joint - 80g Tube.
This CV Joint Grease is an lubricant compound developed to match the original grease specifications used by Porsche in constant velocity (CV) joints. Supplied in an 80 g tube, this grease is formulated to provide optimal lubrication and protection for CV joints during assembly, service, or rebuild of drive shafts and half-shafts.

Fits:
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994
Porsche 993 1995 - 1998
Porsche 986 Boxster 1997 - 2004
Porsche 996 1998 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 2005 - 2008

The CV joint grease reduces friction and wear within the moving surfaces of the constant velocity joint. It helps ensure smooth articulation of the CV joint under angle changes, load transfer, and rotational motion. By maintaining a protective lubricating film, it minimises metal-to-metal contact, reduces heat buildup, and suppresses noise and vibration during operation.

Applied inside the CV joint housing and over bearings, cages, and races, this grease ensures consistent lubrication where rapid movement and heavy loads occur. Its formulation supports water resistance and high shear stability - critical for joints exposed to torque, temperature changes, and contaminants. Proper grease application helps maintain joint integrity and reduces the risk of premature failure.

CV joint grease deteriorates over time due to heat, shearing forces, and contamination. Old, insufficient, or incorrect grease can lead to accelerated wear, noise (clicking/knocking), and eventual CV joint failure. Using a grease ensures the correct lubrication properties are restored, enhancing noise suppression, longevity, and smooth driveline performance.

When to replace:
•  During CV boot replacement or inspection
•  When CV joints are removed or serviced
•  Upon signs of joint noise or vibration
•  At scheduled driveline maintenance
•  Anytime boots are torn or lubricant has leaked out

High Temperature CV Joint & Driveshaft Grease (100 g Tube)
The 00004330545 CV Joint and Driveshaft Grease is a Genuine Porsche Original Equipment (OE) lubricant, formulated specifically for use in constant velocity (CV) joints, driveshafts, and similar high-load rotating assemblies on Porsche vehicles. It is supplied in the correct size tube used by Porsche service departments and technicians.

Fits:
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994
Porsche 993 1995 - 1998
Porsche 986 Boxster 1997 - 2004
Porsche 996 1998 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 2005 - 2008

This high-temperature grease lubricates the internal surfaces of CV joints and driveshaft assemblies, helping to reduce friction and wear between moving components. Its formula maintains a stable lubricating film under heavy loads and high temperatures, helping ensure smooth, quiet operation and extending the life of CV joints and related components.

Applied inside CV joints, bearing races, and driveshaft housings, this grease supports the joint’s ability to articulate while under torque. It helps prevent metal-to-metal contact, inhibits corrosion, and maintains consistent lubrication even under severe driving conditions. The proper lubricant is critical to avoid premature wear, noise, and vibration often associated with inadequate lubrication

Using genuine Porsche grease ensures the correct lubrication properties that Porsche engineers specified for drivetrain joints. Genuine grease helps maintain intended performance and durability.

When to use:
•  During CV joint or driveshaft servicing
•  Any time CV boots are replaced or opened
•  Signs of joint noise, vibration, or wear
•  Preventive maintenance on older vehicles
•  After drivetrain removal or overhaul

About Driveshafts & Parts

Porsche Driveshafts & Driveshaft Parts | Precision Power Delivery & Smooth Driveline Operation

Driveshafts play a vital role in transmitting engine power from your Porsche’s gearbox or differential to the wheels. A well-balanced driveshaft ensures smooth, vibration-free performance, allowing torque to be delivered evenly across all driving conditions.

At Design911, we supply premium driveshafts and replacement driveshaft components engineered to meet or exceed original performance specifications. Each unit is manufactured from high-strength steel or lightweight alloy for maximum torsional rigidity and balance. Our range also includes complete driveshaft assemblies, universal joints, CV joints, couplings, and hardware — all designed for long-lasting reliability and precise fitment.

Whether you’re restoring a classic 911, maintaining a Cayman or Boxster, or upgrading a performance model, our driveshafts and parts ensure smooth power transfer, reduced vibration, and dependable performance.

What Do Driveshafts Do?

The driveshaft is a critical link in your Porsche’s powertrain, connecting the transmission to the driven wheels. It rotates at high speeds, transmitting torque and maintaining balanced motion across suspension travel and gear changes.

Core Functions:

  • Transfers engine torque from gearbox or differential to the wheels.
  • Maintains rotational balance for smooth driving and handling.
  • Absorbs movement between suspension and transmission components.
  • Supports consistent traction and performance under load.

Without a properly functioning driveshaft, power delivery becomes uneven, causing vibration, noise, and potential drivetrain failure.

Why Do Driveshafts Fail or Wear Out?

Driveshafts and their components endure constant rotational forces, torque, and flexing during operation. Over time, these stresses — along with environmental exposure — lead to wear and imbalance.

Common Causes of Failure Include:

  • Worn CV or universal joints causing vibration or clunking noises.
  • Damaged or torn driveshaft boots allowing grease loss and contamination.
  • Corrosion or impact damage to the shaft itself.
  • Imbalance from worn bearings or misalignment.
  • Excessive torque loads from high-performance driving.

When these components wear out, symptoms such as vibration, knocking, or shuddering during acceleration or braking may occur — indicating it’s time for inspection or replacement.

Why Replace Your Porsche Driveshafts & Parts?

Replacing a worn or damaged driveshaft or its components restores balance, smoothness, and reliable torque transfer. Upgraded driveshafts or reinforced components can handle higher power output and reduce rotational mass for enhanced performance.

Key Benefits:

  • Restores smooth, vibration-free driveline operation.
  • Prevents transmission and differential wear.
  • Improves torque transfer and handling precision.
  • Reduces noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH).
  • Manufactured from high-strength materials for durability.
  • Available as complete driveshaft assemblies or individual parts.

It’s recommended to inspect and replace driveshaft joints, couplings, and boots during clutch or transmission servicing to prevent secondary damage.

Highlights

  • High-quality Porsche driveshafts and component parts.
  • Engineered for precision balance and smooth performance.
  • Includes complete assemblies, joints, boots, and couplings.
  • Designed for Porsche 911, Cayman, Boxster, Panamera, and more.
  • Direct-fit replacements built for road or performance applications.
  • Essential for maintaining drivetrain reliability and handling.
