Performance Rear Drop Link Set, +30% Increased Rubber Hardness.
Upgrade your rear suspension linkage with this performance drop link set specifically designed for the Porsche 911 / 930 (1978-1989). Both left & right links included. Featuring stiffer rubber bushes with a 30 % increase in hardness versus stock, this set provides a stronger, more direct connection between the rear stabiliser bar and suspension arms — delivering sharper handling, reduced body roll, and improved rear-end feel under load. Ideal for spirited road driving, track use or any build where precision handling matters.

Fits:
  • Porsche 911 1978-1983 3.0L / SC
  • Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
  • Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
  • Porsche 911 1978-1989 3.3L Turbo (930)

What This Product Does:

  • The rear drop links connect the rear anti-roll bar (stabiliser bar) to the rear suspension arms/axle. When the car corners, the anti-roll bar helps keep the body flatter by transferring load between wheels; the linkage must be rigid and responsive for full effect.
  • By increasing the rubber hardness in the bushes by 30 % over standard, the link is less prone to flex, deformation or movement under load. This means the stabiliser bar engages more effectively, quicker and with less lost motion.
  • The upgrade therefore yields sharper rear-end response, less body roll, better handling stability, particularly under spirited driving or track use.

Symptoms & Signs You Might Need It:
  • You experience clunking or knocking noises from the rear suspension when going over bumps or during cornering — typical of worn drop link joints or flexible bushes.
  • The car displays excess rear body roll, or the rear end feels less controlled in transitions — possibly the stabiliser bar isn’t transmitting force effectively due to soft/link compliance.
  • You’ve upgraded other components (e.g., stronger springs, larger tyres, lowered ride height) but the rear still doesn’t feel tight — the stock links may be the weak link.
  • The existing links have rubber bushes that are cracked, collapsed, excessively soft or you detect play in the link.
  • Visual inspection of the rear links shows degraded bushings, movement under load, or the mounts appear worn.

Why This Upgrade Matters:
  • Handling precision: With the stiffer bushes, the drop links provide a firmer connection, meaning the stabiliser bar is engaged earlier and more completely — improving turn-in, chassis balance and cornering feel.
  • Complements suspension upgrades: If the rest of the suspension has been improved (e.g., springs, dampers, sway bar) then a stronger link makes sure the stabiliser bar isn’t held back by weak link hardware.
  • Longevity and durability: The upgrade is likely to resist wear, deformation and fatigue better than standard softer bushings, thus maintaining performance over time.
  • Value and driving enjoyment: For performance-oriented or track-use cars, the handling benefit is real. Even for road use, more solid links reduce movement, improve feedback and instil driver confidence.
  • Prevents secondary issues: Poor drop links can lead to uneven tyre wear, shifting geometry or looseness — upgrading helps avoid these costly or dangerous side-effects.

About Drop links Rear

Rear ARB Drop Links – Balanced Handling and Rear Suspension Control

Rear ARB drop links are vital suspension components that connect the rear anti roll bar (sway bar) to the suspension, allowing it to operate correctly during cornering and load changes. By transmitting suspension movement to the anti roll bar, rear drop links help control body roll, maintain chassis balance and improve rear-end stability.

At Design911, we offer OE replacement and performance rear ARB drop links from trusted suspension brands. Whether you’re replacing worn components or upgrading as part of a handling-focused suspension setup, quality rear drop links are essential for predictable, confidence-inspiring driving.

What Do Rear ARB Drop Links Do?

Rear ARB drop links act as the linkage between the rear suspension and the anti roll bar, ensuring the bar can resist body roll effectively. Their key functions include:

  • Transferring suspension movement to the anti roll bar
  • Improving rear-end stability during cornering
  • Helping balance front and rear handling characteristics
  • Supporting consistent traction and tyre contact

Worn or damaged rear drop links can reduce the effectiveness of the anti roll bar and negatively impact handling balance.

Why Upgrade or Replace Rear ARB Drop Links?

  • Replacing or upgrading rear ARB drop links provides:
  • Restored anti roll bar effectiveness
  • Reduced knocking or clunking noises from worn joints
  • Improved handling balance and stability
  • Better compatibility with upgraded or adjustable anti roll bars

Performance rear drop links may feature uprated joints, stronger materials or adjustable lengths, making them ideal for lowered vehicles or fast-road and track-focused suspension setups.

When Should You Replace Rear ARB Drop Links?

Rear ARB drop links should be replaced when:

  • Knocking or rattling noises are present from the rear suspension
  • Ball joints or bushes show play or wear
  • Installing new anti roll bars or lowering springs
  • Carrying out a suspension refresh or alignment
  • Rear handling feels inconsistent or unstable

Replacing worn rear drop links ensures the anti roll bar works as intended and helps maintain predictable rear-end behaviour.

At Design911, our rear ARB drop links meet OE or performance standards for fitment, durability and handling performance.
