Possibly the wildest, air-cooled 911 ever produced by Porsche. It existed to homologate the Carrera for the BPR GT3 and GT4 categories and is based on the Carrera Cup car, as well as giving more track-focused customers an even more focused machine.

A rare car, and for many, the greatest Porsche model ever produced.

The external appearance of the Porsche 993, designed by Englishman Toni Hatter, retained the basic body shell architecture of the 964 and other earlier 911 models, but with revised external panels, flared wheel arches and a smoother front and rear bumper design.

The Carrera RS or Renn Sport was a lightweight variant of the Carrera. It featured a naturally-aspirated 3.8 litre air-cooled engine that produced 300 bhp and 261 lb/ft torque at 6,500 rpm.The six-speed gear shift is linked to a Type G50/31 short-ratio gearbox. 0-62 mph is achieved in just 4.7 secs and top speed is 172 miles per hour.

The RS exterior is easily distinguishable by a special non-retractable Sport Group 1 rearwing, small front flaps and 3-piece 18” aluminium wheels with 225/40 ZR18 tyres on the front and 265/35 ZR18 on the rear. The headlight washers were deleted to save weight.

The front uses a deeper front spoiler with winglets on either side, and the bumper has cooling ducts instead of lights. Inside, to save more weight, the rear seats were removed, and special racing seats and spartan door cards were installed. Sound proofing was also reduced to a minimum

A direct ancestor of modern RS Porsches, the Euro market-only Carrera RS 3.8 was based on the Carrera Cup competition car and was built as a homologation special to allow the enlarged 3.8 litre engine to be fitted to the 911 RSR racers competing throughout Europe in the late 1990s. Every element of the suspension is adjustable for track set-up.

There are stiffer track rod ends in the steering linkage, power steering being standard, improving turn-in response and feel. Supplied new in June 1995 by Porsche, Braunschweig, Code C00 German specification, the 993 Club Sport was registered in the UK in 2014. Presented in super condition, with original service history books.
