The genuine Porsche part number 91434705702 Inner Tie Rod Joint / Bush is the factory-specified component that threads into the steering rack and connects to the outer tie rod in classic Porsche 911, 912, and 914 models. As a precision OEM part, it maintains exact geometry and alignment to ensure reliable and accurate steering response.
Sold each, two units are required per vehicle.

The steering rack controls the front wheels by means of two track rods, terminated by replaceable joints - the "Track Rod Ends", attached to the swivel hubs. These will eventually wear, leading to problems with steering and handling, as well as being a failure point on the UK MOT and presumably on the statutory inspections in other countries.

Do you find the steering in your 911 too heavy whilst parking or taking hairpin turns? Have you fitted wider tires, a smaller diameter steering wheel or a more direct steering rack? This is the solution, a speed sensitive power steering unit that offers maximum assistance at low speeds and minimum at high speeds, therefore the steering "feel" remains.

It is possible to switch off the system. It is also possible to fit an on/off switch in the ignition switched 15+ thin red cable which will you to switch the system on or off at any time when driving. This will not damage the power steering in any way.

You can connect the blue speed sensor wire to the speedometer, this will reduce the assistance when you drive faster.

If this has been connected and you find the steering too light, you can place a “torque limiter” between the torsion sensor and the ECU which will allow you to  adjust the power steering from 100% to nearly 0% to select exactly the amount of assistance you prefer.
