What they do:

The pads are engineered to convert kinetic energy into thermal energy by pressing against the brake disc—a controlled friction process that brings the vehicle to a stop with minimal fade and consistent feel.
ZIMMERMANN uses friction-material mixtures drawn from up to 25 different raw-material types, tailored to vehicle and braking system demands.

Comfort-oriented features—such as damping plates, directional bevels, grooves and tuned vibration-absorbing layers—help suppress noise and vibration while maintaining crisp response.

Why brake pads fail:

Wear-out of friction material: Over time, the pad material becomes thinner and loses its capacity to generate sufficient friction—leading to longer stopping distance and reduced effectiveness.
Glazing or thermal overload: When subjected to repeated heavy braking or high temperature without proper match to the disc, the pad surface can harden (glaze) or lose its ideal friction coefficient, reducing deceleration.
