Diagram ref no 5

The upper shock absorber base supports and secures the rear damper assembly to the chassis while helping maintain correct suspension alignment and damping operation. It contributes to stable handling, ride comfort, and controlled suspension movement.

Function
Supports upper rear shock absorber assembly
•  Maintains correct suspension geometry and alignment
  Helps stabilise rear suspension movement
  Absorbs chassis and suspension loads
  Supports proper PASM damper operation

Over time, suspension mounting components are subjected to repeated stress, vibration, and road impact. Wear or deterioration can lead to suspension noise, poor ride quality, inaccurate alignment, or reduced damper performance. Replacing worn upper shock absorber bases restores suspension stability, ride comfort, and proper rear axle control.

When to replace
Knocking or clunking noises from rear suspension
Excessive rear suspension movement or instability
  During rear shock absorber replacement
  Visible wear, cracking, or deformation
  Uneven ride quality or vibration
