The rear control arm plays a vital role in the suspension system by:
• Supporting lateral and longitudinal forces
• Keeping the wheel aligned relative to the chassis
• Allowing controlled suspension movement
• Helping maintain correct wheel camber and toe angles.
This improves handling precision, reduces unwanted tyre wear, and enhances ride stability.

Control arms are subjected to constant load and movement, which over time can lead to:
• Worn or torn bushings
• Excessive play in the arm joint
• Loose or imprecise handling
• Uneven tyre wear
• Suspension noise and reduced comfort.

Replacing worn or fatigued control arms helps restore factory handling characteristics, maintain correct alignment, and protect adjacent suspension components from accelerated wear.

The control arm bushing is comprised of two halves for each arm. Kit includes two halves for one complete bushing.

High Density front control arm bushings can eliminate vibration often caused by ageing OEM units, and better maintain steering feel under heavy acceleration and braking. These bushings replace the rear bushing in the front control arm of 993s and 964s and will reduce suspension deflection more precisely maintaining suspension geometry and alignment. Featuring a 25% increase in durometer, our units reduce suspension deflection under load resulting in a crisper and more direct steering feel. Street and track cars owners alike will enjoy a more planted and precise front end.

We see control bushings fail with great regularity on 964 cars. Failures seem mileage independent, the rubber deteriorates due to age. The symptom is vibration felt in the steering wheel.

Stock-hardness – Restores performance and ride quality to original.

Sport-Hardness – Similar to the 993 RS bushing, sport hardness rubber is about 25% firmer. Deflects less under cornering loads and thereby maintains alignment more precisely.

Designed for Porsche 964 and 993 models, this bushing replaces the factory front mount of the lower control arm, providing a stiffer, more durable connection between the wishbone and subframe.

What This Product Does:
  • The bushing is the interface between the control arm and the subframe / mounting point.
  • It permits controlled movement (for suspension travel) while resisting unwanted motion so the wheel alignment remains stable.
  • The firmer (sport) version deflects less under cornering, braking, or acceleration loads, helping maintain alignment geometry under load.
  • By resisting deflection, it helps reduce unwanted movement in the front suspension, improving handling precision and steering feedback.

Symptoms Of A Worn / Failing Bushing:
  • Vibration felt in the steering wheel, especially under certain loads or speeds (“shudderiness”)
  • Looseness / play in the front suspension — less precise steering response
  • Alignment changes under load — the front toe may drift during cornering or braking
  • Clunking or knocking noises over bumps or from the front suspension
  • Uneven or increased tire wear, especially on the front edges
  • A degraded “feel” to the front end — less sharpness or a vague response in turns

Why The Sport Hardness Version Matters:
  • Better control under load: Because this bushing is stiffer than stock, it deflects less in aggressive driving, helping maintain suspension geometry (camber / toe) more accurately in dynamic conditions.
  • Sharper steering feel: Less compliance means more direct response, reducing mushiness in the front end.

  • Longer service life (in some cases): A harder compound may resist aging and fatigue better in high-stress conditions, though it may transmit slightly more noise, vibration compared to softer rubber.
  • It still retains enough flexibility to absorb some road input, balancing performance with comfort.
