This product is a pair of rear side air intake covers for the Porsche 911 (992) range, manufactured or styled in real carbon fibre. These intakes sit on the rear quarter panels and form part of the 992’s functional air-intake system, feeding cooling air to the engine or intercoolers depending on model variant (e.g., Carrera, Turbo, Turbo S).

"Dry" Carbon Fibre

Dry carbon fibre fabric is weaved with resin pre-impregnated carbon fiber (called “pre-preg” in carbon fiber industry) 
Pre-preg carbon fibre reaches optimal resin/carbon ratio to strive for its characteristics, thus during the carbon parts manufacturing process, there is no resin application needed when molding. This is why it is called “Dry” carbon fibre.

The autoclave process is another important step to finish our products. In the autoclave, the high pressure and temperature are the key to our products’ tensile strength, which can be up to 15 times higher than steel.

Unlike the Wet carbon fiber where the resin is applied into carbon fibre cloth to form a sturdy structure, dry carbon fiber parts are generally 50-60% lighter than those made of wet carbon fiber and the strength of these two materials are also different. 

Another thing that is hard to overlook is the finish, dry carbon creates a beautiful & clean weave in the autoclave while wet carbon comes out to be otherwise. Even average dry carbon is way better than wet carbon in looks, strength and weight.
