Zimmermann’s brake pad range is produced with quality engineering, ensuring optimal braking comfort, minimal wear, and dependable stopping power. Every set undergoes a development process lasting up to 3 years and thousands of test miles, guaranteeing outstanding performance and reliability across diverse driving conditions.

What They Do
The Zimmermann brake pads are designed to convert kinetic energy into thermal energy during braking, delivering controlled deceleration with minimal noise and consistent pedal feedback.

Key features and benefits:

  • Tailored friction compounds: Formulated using up to 25 different raw materials for optimal grip, balance, and fade resistance.
  • Vehicle-specific design: Each pad set is tuned to match the braking characteristics of its intended vehicle type.
  • High comfort & low noise: Chamfered edges, anti-vibration layers, and precision backing plates ensure quiet operation.
  • Long service life: Durable friction surfaces and quality binding ensure minimal wear, even under demanding conditions.
  • Corrosion-resistant components: Protective coatings safeguard against rust, ensuring long-term performance.
  • ECE R90 conformity: Certified to meet European safety and braking standards.

Zimmermann’s standard pads are trusted by professionals and enthusiasts alike for smooth, predictable braking and a refined driving experience.

Why Brake Pads Fail
Even the best pads will wear over time. Common causes of brake pad failure include:

  • Friction material wear: Continuous heat and pressure gradually thin the pad surface, reducing braking power.
  • Glazing or overheating: Prolonged heavy braking can harden the pad surface, decreasing friction efficiency.
  • Uneven contact or alignment issues: Warped rotors or improper installation can cause uneven wear and vibration.
  • Contamination: Dust, oil, or road debris can penetrate the braking surface, reducing grip and causing squeal.
  • Neglected maintenance: Worn pads increase rotor wear, leading to higher repair costs and potential safety risks.

Regular inspection and timely replacement ensure consistent braking performance and protect your vehicle’s entire braking system.

Why They Should Be Replaced
Replacing worn or underperforming brake pads with the Zimmermann set ensures your vehicle maintains:

  • Reliable braking performance: Fresh pads restore maximum friction, improving stopping distance and response time.

The kit includes high-performance Zimmermann front brake discs and brake pads, and a brake pad wear sensor, ensuring a full restoration of factory braking performance and safety.

Fits:
  • Porsche Boxster 981 2.7L 2012-16
  • Porsche Cayman 2.7L 981 2013-16

Diagram Ref No 1, 6, 7

What This Product Does:

  • Replaces worn or heat-affected front brake discs/rotors with new units which restore a correct braking surface, proper thickness, and reliable contact for the brake pads.
  • Installs new front brake pads providing full thickness friction material for improved bite, consistent performance, and renewed braking power.
  • Replaces the brake pad wear sensor so the onboard brake-pad wear monitoring system functions correctly, alerting you when the pads reach end of life.
  • Improves overall braking performance: smoother engagement, reduced noise, less vibration, and improved pedal feel.
  • Restores correct braking balance and stopping power for the front axle, which in most vehicles does the majority of the braking load.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Squealing or screeching noises when braking (often caused by worn pads or worn pad-to-rotor surfaces)
  • Grinding or scraping noises (pads worn to backing plate or rotor damage)
  • Pedal pulsation or steering-wheel vibration under braking (often due to warped or uneven rotors)
  • Longer stopping distances or felt reduction in braking power or initial bite
  • Soft or spongy brake pedal especially after repeated heavy braking or when hot
  • Brake warning light triggered by pad wear sensor indicating pads are very thin or sensor is damaged
  • Visible rotor issues: deep grooves, heat spots, blueing, excessive lip at edge of rotor, or rotor thickness below spec
  • Vehicle pulls to one side when braking (indicating uneven pad/rotor wear or caliper/slide issue)
  • Excessive brake dust or uneven pad wear on front wheels

Why Replacement Matters:
  • The front brakes deliver most of the stopping force. Worn pads/rotors or a failed wear sensor reduce your ability to stop effectively, compromising safety.
  • New rotors and pads mean correct pad-to-rotor contact, effective friction, crisp pedal feel, and restored stopping power.
  • If you leave worn pads on old rotors, the pads can score or damage the rotors; warping or damage of rotors accelerates pad wear and can lead to vibration, noise, or compromised braking. Replacing all major components together prevents cascading wear.
  • Matched new rotors and pads reduce brake noise (squeal, chirp) and pedal/steering vibration due to uneven surfaces or worn hardware.
  • Replacing the pad wear sensor ensures your braking system correctly tells you when pads need replacing. Ignoring a damaged sensor can leave you with dangerously thin pads and no warning.
  • Accessing front brakes is labour-intensive (removing wheels, calipers, rotors). Doing pads, rotors, and sensors together means you only pay labour once and ensure all components have matched wear.
  • For premium vehicles such as Porsche Boxster/Cayman, proper braking hardware maintains performance, driving feel, and resale value.

REAR Brake Disc And Brake Pads Package.
This Rear Brake Disc and Brake Pads Package provides a complete quality braking overhaul for the rear axle of Porsche Macan (95B) models. The kit includes high-performance rear brake discs, premium rear brake pads, and the required fitment components, ensuring a balanced, smooth, and reliable braking experience.

Fits:
  • Porsche 95B.1 Macan Turbo 3.6L V6 400Bhp 2014-18

Diagram Ref No 1, 8, 9

What This Product Does:

  • Replace the rear brake discs/rotors, restoring a true, flat, even braking surface for the pads to clamp against.
  • Replace the rear brake pads, which provide the friction material that presses onto the rotor to stop the vehicle.
  • Potentially include wear sensors so the pad-wear monitoring system remains functional.
  • Improve stopping performance, restore correct rear braking balance, reduce noise/vibration/pedal pulsation, and ensure rear brakes operate reliably under load and repeated stops.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Squealing or high-pitched noise when braking from the rear, especially under light braking (indicates worn pads or pad-to-rotor gap issues).
  • Grinding or scraping noise from the rear wheels when braking (indicates extremely worn pads, possibly metal-on-metal contact or rotor damage).
  • Brake pedal pulsation or vibration (especially if rotors are warped, uneven or heat-distressed).
  • Longer stopping distances or rear braking weaker than front (which may cause imbalance or pulling to one side).
  • Spongy or soft brake pedal feel when braking from higher speeds or repeated stops (heat soak or rotor/fade issues).
  • Visible rotor damage or wear: grooves, cracks, blue-heat coloration, rotor thickness below spec, or excessive lip on edge of rotor face.
  • Uneven pad wear on the rear axle or increased brake dust from the rear wheels.
  • Car pulls or drifts during braking if one side’s rotor/pads are significantly worse than the other.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Safety: Braking is a primary safety system. On a performance vehicle (especially) the rear brakes support stability, especially under heavy braking or dynamic driving. Worn rear brakes compromise stopping ability and can cause imbalance.
  • Performance & Balance: Rear brake condition contributes to overall braking balance. Matching new rotor and pad ensures rear braking capability complements the front, delivering consistent pedal feel and stopping power.
  • Preventing Further Damage: Worn pads can damage rotors (scoring, heat stress). Warped or damaged rotors will in turn degrade new pads quickly. Replacing both pads & discs together prevents this cascade of wear.
  • Quiet & Smooth Operation: A fresh kit removes squealing, vibration, or pedal judder caused by degraded surfaces or mismatched wear.
  • Cost-effectiveness: Since access to rear brakes still involves labour (wheel removal, caliper removal, rotor removal), doing a full kit at once avoids repeated disassembly and costs.
  • Resale & Reliability: For premium brands like Porsche, maintaining braking hardware in top condition supports vehicle value, owner satisfaction, and reduces risk of warranty/inspection issues.
  • Heat & Fade Resistance: Especially for driven/sporadic high-performance use, rear rotors and pads see significant thermal loads. Quality components keep braking reliable even under demanding conditions.

FRONT Brake Pads And Brake Disc Package.  DISC SIZE 330mm x 32mm
This Front Brake Pads and Brake Disc Package provides a full quality replacement solution for the front braking system on Porsche Cayenne 955 model. The kit includes front brake discs (rotors), brake pads, and pad wear sensors—everything required to restore braking performance and safety.

Fits:
  • Porsche 955 Cayenne 3.2L V6 2003-06

Diagram Ref No 1, 6, 7

What The Product Does:

  • The brake pads clamp onto the brake discs (rotors) to slow/stop the vehicle when you apply the brakes.
  • Over time, the discs wear, get heat-cycles, may warp or become uneven, and the pads wear down.
  • This package replaces both the wear items (pads) and the rotating discs, giving a fresh braking surface and the correct pad dimensions.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
  • Reduced braking performance: longer stopping distances, spongy pedal feel, less “bite”.
  • Brake pedal vibration or pulsation: often due to warped or uneven rotors, which cause the pads/rotors to oscillate under pressure.
  • Squealing or screeching noises when braking: could be pad wear, glazing, or rotor surface issues.
  • Grinding noise: if the pads are worn to the metal backing or rotor surfaces are severely scored.
  • Brake warning light or pad wear indicator triggered: the wear sensors included in this kit monitor pad life; if they trigger, the pads are close to end-of-life.
  • Rotor visible damage or thickness below specification: heat distress (blueing), cracks, large grooves, or rotor thickness less than minimum.
  • Uneven pad wear or rotor grooving: which leads to uneven braking or pulling to one side.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Safety critical: Brakes are one of the most important safety systems on the vehicle. Worn pads or warped rotors reduce stopping power and can result in unsafe conditions.
  • Restores factory braking feel and performance: With fresh rotors and pads you’ll get proper friction, correct pad-to-rotor contact, and the designed stopping performance.
  • Avoids greater damage: If you leave worn pads too long, rotor damage can accelerate, increasing repair cost (you might need to machine or replace rotors).
  • Even wear and correct operation: Replacing sensors ensures that the pad wear monitoring system works properly. Replacing both rotors simultaneously ensures even braking side-to-side.
  • Cost-effective in one go: Because doing brakes involves labour (wheel removal, calipers off, etc.), doing a full kit at once is more economical than piecemeal over time.
  • Maintains resale and reliability: Especially for premium vehicles like the Cayenne, fresh braking hardware helps maintain the value and confidence in the vehicle.

  • Even the best pads will wear over time. Common causes of brake pad failure include:
  • Friction material wear: Continuous heat and pressure gradually thin the pad surface, reducing braking power.
  • Glazing or overheating: Prolonged heavy braking can harden the pad surface, decreasing friction efficiency.
  • Uneven contact or alignment issues: Warped rotors or improper installation can cause uneven wear and vibration.
  • Contamination: Dust, oil, or road debris can penetrate the braking surface, reducing grip and causing squeal.
  • Neglected maintenance: Worn pads increase rotor wear, leading to higher repair costs and potential safety risks.

Regular inspection and timely replacement ensure consistent braking performance and protect your vehicle’s entire braking system.

Why They Should Be Replaced

  • Replacing worn or underperforming brake pads with the Zimmermann set ensures your vehicle maintains:
  • Reliable braking performance: Fresh pads restore maximum friction, improving stopping distance and response time.
  • Driving comfort & quiet operation: Maintains Zimmermann’s hallmark of smooth, low-noise braking.
  • Protection for brake discs: Prevents premature rotor wear and costly component damage.
  • Consistent safety: Guarantees even pressure distribution and stable pedal feel in all conditions.
  • Efficiency & lifespan: New pads maintain proper heat dissipation and energy transfer, extending both pad and disc life.

Zimmermann’s precision-engineered standard brake pads ensure reliability, safety, and long-lasting value for everyday and performance-oriented drivers alike.

Zimmermann’s engineering process uses premium friction materials to deliver stable braking force, low noise, and excellent heat resistance, ensuring performance aligned with Porsche levels of safety and reliability—without mentioning or depending on the term “OEM”.

What These Handbrake Shoes Do
Handbrake shoes operate inside the rear brake discs' internal drum, providing mechanical braking force separate from the hydraulic main braking system.

Key Functions of Handbrake Shoes

  • Secure parking hold on inclines and uneven surfaces
  • Smooth handbrake engagement with predictable response
  • Consistent friction due to durable lining materials
  • Stable mechanical braking even in cold or wet conditions
  • Long-term durability under repeated tension and load

Zimmermann’s friction compound ensures optimal grip without excessive wear, making them ideal for both daily use and spirited driving environments.

Why Handbrake Shoes Fail
Parking brake shoes wear differently than disc brake pads, but they remain susceptible to aging, contamination and mechanical degradation.

Common Causes of Failure

  • Lining wear from repeated parking brake engagement
  • Corrosion from moisture, salt or long storage periods
  • Glazing due to overheating from driving with the handbrake partially engaged
  • Delamination where the friction lining separates from the shoe backing
  • Mechanical fatigue from worn springs or mechanisms
  • Accumulated debris inside the brake drum reducing friction

Worn or damaged handbrake shoes can cause weak holding power, handbrake warning lights, noises, or MOT/inspection failures.

Zimmermann’s construction resists moisture, heat and debris, reducing the likelihood of premature failure.

Why They Should Be Replaced
Replacing old or fatigued handbrake shoes restores the Porsche’s essential safety functions and parking stability.

Benefits of Replacement

  • Restores full parking brake strength
  • Prevents vehicle movement on slopes
  • Improves handbrake feel and pedal/lever travel
  • Prevents rotor damage caused by metal-to-metal contact
  • Eliminates grinding, squealing or vibration
  • Ensures MOT readiness / safety compliance
  • Ideal for cars stored for extended periods (common with Porsche models)

What they do
Zimmermann’s R&D:z brake pads employ a special friction compound containing organic fibers, which forms a thin, protective transfer layer between the brake disc and pad during braking.

This innovative layer:

  • Improves pedal feel and stopping precision.
  • Provides high resistance of the friction coefficient across varying temperatures.
  • Minimizes abrasion and dust creation, keeping rims cleaner for longer.
  • Offers smoother, quieter operation with significantly less vibration.
  • Enhances braking comfort and heat resistance for consistent, fade-free performance.

Each braking cycle renews this friction layer, continuously maintaining optimal grip and reducing wear — ensuring every stop feels as confident as the first.

Why brake pads fail

Even advanced pads such as the Zimmermann range can deteriorate over time if not properly maintained or installed:

  • Material Wear: Friction compounds naturally thin with mileage, reducing stopping power and increasing braking distance.
  • Thermal Overload or Glazing: Heavy, repeated braking can overheat pads, hardening the surface and diminishing friction performance.
  • Uneven Disc Contact: Poor fitment or warped rotors can cause localized wear, vibrations, and noise.
  • Contamination or Corrosion: Exposure to dirt, salt, or moisture can compromise pad integrity, accelerating wear.
  • Old-Type Materials: Non-optimized compounds create excessive dark dust and noise compared with Zimmermann’s advanced dust-reduced formulation.

Why they should be replaced

  • Maintain Braking Efficiency: Replacing pads before the friction material wears out ensures maximum safety and consistent stopping distances.
  • Preserve Wheel Appearance: The Zimmermann dust-reduced compound produces lighter, brighter dust that’s nearly invisible, helping rims stay clean. Enhance Driving Comfort: New pads eliminate brake squeal and vibration, restoring smooth pedal response.
  • Reduce Environmental Impact: Less abrasion means fewer particulates released into the environment — an eco-friendly braking solution.
  • Prolong Brake System Life: Lower wear rates protect both discs and calipers, saving on long-term maintenance costs.

In short, timely replacement with Zimmermann pads keeps your braking system precise, quiet, and clean — for confident, sustainable performance.

Your Advantages:

  • Over 1,000 product variants
  • Large storage capacity (120,000 sets) for rapid availability
  • OE quality standards
  • OES quality Long service life Smooth and consistent braking performance
  • Complies with ECE R90 regulations
  • Excellent corrosion protection
  • Complete range from a single supplier

What they do
  • These pad units convert the motion of your vehicle into stopping power by pressing the friction material against the disc, transforming kinetic energy into heat in a controlled manner—ensuring reliable deceleration, consistent response and minimal fade.
  • The pb:z line uses friction-material mixtures drawn from up to 25 different raw materials, tailored specifically for each vehicle’s braking system and usage profile.
  • Manufactured with careful control of temperature, pressure and time, the production process ensures that each pad set meets the design criteria for braking comfort, precision and functional safety.
  • Your advantage: the pb:z range in ‘OES-quality’ (Original Equipment-Standard quality) delivers highest level of brake comfort, precision for highest functional safety, and is available for some special applications.
  • Further benefits: long lifespan, very smooth performance, and conformity to ECE R90 standards for braking performance.

Why brake pads fail
  • Friction-material wear: Over time, the pad material thins, reducing the effective contact area and friction coefficient. When the pad becomes too thin, stopping distance increases and performance deteriorates.
  • Thermal overload or glazing: Under repeated heavy braking or mismatched pad/disc pairing, the surface can harden or glaze, losing its ideal friction characteristics—leading to fade or uneven braking.
  • Uneven pad-to-disc contact: If pads don’t make full uniform contact due to disc warpage, caliper misalignment, or incorrect installation, only portions of the pad carry load, which accelerates wear or creates hotspots.
  • Corrosion or contaminants: Although the pb:z line offers optimal corrosion protection, external factors (salt, water ingress, lack of maintenance) can degrade surfaces, impairing pad stability and life.
  • Loss of comfort/damping features: If design features like damping plates or proper backing-plates are compromised, then vibration, noise or uneven wear may emerge—reducing the pad’s effective lifespan or creating failure symptoms.

Why they should be replaced
  • Maintain stopping power and safety: To retain predictable braking distances, consistent pedal feel and full system responsiveness, the pad set must operate within specification. Once friction material wears beyond safe limits, system performance suffers.
  • Protect the rest of the braking system: Worn or failing pads can lead to disc damage, caliper piston overheating, or uneven rotor wear—resulting in higher repair costs down the line.
  • Preserve refinement and driving comfort: The pb:z pad set offers smooth, quiet operation with minimal noise or vibration. Replacing at the correct time preserves that comfort and refined braking feel.
  • Conform to regulatory and planned performance standards: Since these pads are designed to comply with ECE R90 and built to high-precision standards, replacing them at appropriate intervals ensures you retain this benchmark level of braking behaviour and safety.
  • Match the development pedigree: These pads result from advanced development cycles (2-3 years plus extensive testing) and represent a replacement-grade compared to generic alternatives. Choosing timely replacement helps you maintain performance aligned with original design intent.
