A Quick Look at OE Match

OE Match information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.

Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche

Where OE Match is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.

  • Often chosen when owners want OE-equivalent quality with sensible running costs, especially for routine service and wear items.
  • Typical reasons to replace include restoring reliability, addressing age-related wear, or refreshing multiple components during larger repair work.
  • Common defects from incorrect application include noise, premature wear, leaks, or fitment quirks if the wrong variant is selected or fitted with old seals/hardware.
  • Watch for symptoms such as unusual noises, early wear, or repeat failures after recent work, which can indicate mismatched parts or supporting items left worn.
  • Always cross-check OEM part numbers, read model-year notes, and verify compatibility before ordering.
  • For safety-critical components, confirm specification and fitment carefully and have installation checked by a competent technician.

Browse by Category

If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.

Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, longer stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.

Brake Pad Wear Sensors — Brake pad wear sensors are replaced when pads are renewed or when warning lights indicate a broken or worn sensor. Symptoms include brake wear warnings even with new pads, damaged sensor cables, or broken clips around the caliper area.

Engine Electrical — Engine electrical parts are changed when there are starting, charging, ignition, or sensor-related faults that affect drivability and reliability, such as intermittent no-start, misfires, rough idle, poor charging, warning lights or heat-soak failures.

Service Parts — Service parts are replaced as routine maintenance to keep the engine and systems reliable, efficient, and protected, often resolving hard starting, rough idle, poor fuel economy and warning lights caused by clogged filters or worn ignition components.

Service Kits — Service kits bundle key service components to simplify maintenance and set the car back to a known baseline, especially useful when catching up on overdue servicing or dealing with general sluggish running, inconsistent idle and reduced performance.

  • For brake parts, confirm whether items are OE-equivalent replacements or performance upgrades and check if new fitting kits and sensors are required.
  • On service items and kits, match the kit to your exact Porsche model, engine and year, and review what is included so you can add any extra “while you are there” parts.

Exhaust valve guide - 1st oversize - set.
This is a set of six OE Match quality exhaust valve guides designed for the air-cooled Porsche 911 (993) engines produced between 1994 and 1998. These are 1st oversize valve guides, meaning they are slightly larger than standard guides to accommodate engines that have been reamed or show wear in the original guide bores. The set contains six guides, enough for a full cylinder head rebuild on the exhaust side.
SET OF 6

Fits:
Porsche 993 1994 - 1998

Diagram Ref no 2.

Valve guides are precision metal bushings pressed into the cylinder head that support and guide the movement of the exhaust valve stems. Over time, original guides can wear, allowing excessive valve stem play, reducing seal effectiveness, and increasing engine oil consumption. These OE Match valve guides are manufactured to match Porsche’s original specifications, including diameter, material quality and machining tolerance, but in a 1st oversize dimension so they fit reamed cylinder heads.

This SET OF 6 provides a complete set for one engine’s exhaust side - ideal for cylinder-head rebuilds, valve jobs or whenever the exhaust guide bores are undersized due to wear.

The exhaust valve guides:
Support and align the exhaust valve stems so they travel accurately within the head.
Maintain correct valve seating and combustion sealing, which is vital for performance and compression.
Help conduct and dissipate heat from valves into the cylinder head casting.
Reduce lateral valve stem movement, decreasing wear on stems and valve seats.

By replacing old or worn guides with a matched oversize set, you can restore tight tolerances in the valve train and help ensure efficient combustion and long-term reliability.

Valve guides wear over time due to heat, friction, and repeated valve movement. When guides become worn or oversized gaps develop between the valve stem and guide bore, the following issues can arise:
  Loss of performance and power
  Higher oil consumption
  Reduced sealing and compression
  Increased valve train wear

Installing a correct OE Match valve guide restores correct valve alignment, reduces unwanted movement, supports proper seat sealing, and prolongs the life of your engine’s top end - especially in rebuild or high-mileage applications.

Replace valve guides if you observe:
Blue smoke from the exhaust (signifying oil burning)
  Rough idle or hesitation
Poor compression or loss of engine power
Valve stem play when checked during teardown
During a cylinder head rebuild or valve job

Porsche 944 & 924S Crankshaft Oil Scraper – Improved Oil Control & Engine Stability Upgrade

This unique crankshaft oil scraper is designed to improve oil control, reduce rotating drag and increase engine reliability in Porsche 924S, 944 and 944S models.

Fits:

  • Porsche 924S 2.5L 1986-87
  • Porsche 924S 2.5L 1988
  • Porsche 944 2.5L 8V 1982-87
  • Porsche 944 2.7L 8V 1988-89
  • Porsche 944S 2.5L 16V 1987-88

In high-revving engines, the crankshaft spins through engine oil at great speed. As it rotates, it throws oil outward, creating a dense cloud of oil mist around the crank assembly. This phenomenon increases rotating resistance, aerates the oil and reduces the amount of usable oil retained in the sump.

Our precision-engineered crank scraper directly removes excess oil from the crank cheeks on every rotation. The result is improved oil control, reduced drag and enhanced engine stability.

What This Crankshaft Oil Scraper Does

Reduces Rotational Drag
By scraping excess oil from the crankshaft during rotation, the scraper reduces the weight of the crankshaft in wet running conditions. Less oil clinging to the rotating assembly means smoother, freer revving performance.

Improves Oil Retention in the Sump
Instead of being whipped into suspension, more oil remains in the crankcase where it belongs. This ensures a more stable oil supply under acceleration and high RPM use.

Reduces Oil Foaming and Aeration
Excessive oil mist leads to foaming, which can reduce lubrication efficiency. By controlling oil splash, this scraper helps maintain more consistent oil density and lubrication quality.

Helps Prevent Oil Starvation
During hard cornering, braking or high-speed driving, oil starvation can occur when insufficient oil reaches the suction pipe. By keeping more oil properly settled in the sump and reducing aeration, the risk of oil starvation is significantly reduced.

Increases Crankshaft Frame Stiffness
This component also adds structural rigidity to the crankshaft frame assembly. When installed, the rings under the crankshaft frame nuts are omitted, contributing to a more direct and stable mounting setup.

Precision Fitment
We have measured tolerances on used engines with maximum axial play to ensure accurate fitment across engine conditions. The design also allows compatibility with our H-beam connecting rods, making it ideal for performance builds and engine rebuild projects.

Ideal for Performance and Track Use
High RPM and track conditions amplify oil aeration and starvation risks. This upgrade provides additional protection for engines operating under stress.

Engine Rebuild Enhancement
If you are rebuilding a Porsche 944 or 924S engine, installing a crank scraper is a smart preventative upgrade that improves long-term reliability.

Improved Engine Efficiency
Reducing oil drag on the crankshaft can contribute to smoother power delivery and improved engine response.

Long-Term Engine Protection
By minimising oil foaming and maintaining stable oil supply to the pickup pipe, this component supports bearing longevity and overall engine durability.

If you are building, restoring or upgrading a Porsche 924S or 944 engine, this crankshaft oil scraper is a proven solution to improve oil control, reduce drag and enhance engine stability under demanding conditions.

FAQs

  • Q: Can a weak fuel pump still allow the car to run?
A: Yes, a tired pump may run the engine at light load but struggle to maintain pressure during hard acceleration or higher revs, showing up as hesitation or cutting out.
  • Q: Do fuel pump problems always trigger obvious noise?
A: Not always, but increasing whining or humming from the tank area is a common early sign, especially if performance has started to deteriorate.
  • Q: Could a relay or wiring fault mimic pump failure?
A: Yes, low voltage, poor earths or a failing relay can cause similar no-start or intermittent running symptoms, so basic electrical checks are sensible before condemning the pump.
  • Q: Why does low fuel level sometimes make symptoms worse?
A: With little fuel in the tank, the pump can run hotter and may ingest more debris or air, which makes any underlying weakness more noticeable.
  • Q: Should the fuel filter be checked when replacing a pump?
A: It is common practice to inspect or renew the fuel filter at the same time, as restriction can overload a new pump and affect pressure.

Sun visor mount set
This OE Match Sun Visor Mount Set is a complete three-piece mounting kit designed to support and secure your sun visors in a Porsche 914 (1970–1976). It includes three precision-matched mounts: Centre visor mount, Left side mount and  Right side mount.  These mounts are engineered to match original OE fitment and restore reliable pivot support for your sun visors.
SET OF 3

Fits:
Porsche 914 1970 - 1976

Diagram ref no 24, 25 and 26

Sun visor mounts secure the pivot ends of both driver and passenger sun visors, allowing them to rotate up, down, or sideways as needed to block glare. Proper mounts ensure that the visors stay in position without sagging or drifting, improving both driver comfort and safety. As factory-style components, these help restore the correct feel and movement of the visor pivot assembly when you adjust the visors while driving.

This OE Match set replaces all three key mounting points with robust, quality-engineered components that fit directly into your Porsche 914’s interior without modification.

Original sun visor mounts on classic Porsche 914 cars are prone to plastic fatigue, cracking and failure with age and exposure to heat and UV light. A failing mount can cause the visor to droop, swing loosely, or fail to stay in the selected position - affecting comfort and visibility. Replacing all three pivot mounts with this OE Match set restores proper alignment and secure positioning of your sun visors, improving visibility and driver comfort, while maintaining an authentic interior appearance.

Replace the sun visor mount set if you notice:
•  Visors that sag or drop from position
•  Visors that won’t stay rotated or locked in place
•  Cracked or brittle original plastic pivot mounts
•  Loose visor movement or unusual play at the pivot
