GiroDisc
GiroDisc for Porsche
GiroDisc braking components for Porsche from Design911, focused on high-performance 2-piece brake rotors that can support demanding road and track use where listed for your model.
A Quick Look at GiroDisc
When GiroDisc was founded in 2003, we made it our mission to design and manufacture 2-piece brake rotors that would perform flawlessly at the limits. Our fully-floating design uses tension hardware to ensure that our rotors are silent on the street, but ready to go on the track.By specializing in this area, we can dedicate our efforts to push our engineering and manufacturing to the highest levels in the industry. Porsche customers around the world have found success maximizing the capabilities of their existing brake systems by installing GiroDisc rotors. This often negates the need for a pricier, more complex upgrade like a big brake kit.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where GiroDisc is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typical reasons to choose GiroDisc include improving consistency under heat, reducing brake fade and maximising track-day durability where a Porsche is used hard on road or circuit.
- Common brake issues that may prompt an upgrade include fade, cracking on overused rotors, vibration from deposits, uneven pad wear and a long pedal when hot, sometimes made worse by old fluid or sticky calipers.
- Match pad type to disc design and intended use, and combine any rotor upgrade with fresh, high-temperature brake fluid and correct bedding-in for stable performance.
- If you experience vibration, noises or changes in pedal feel on your Porsche, have the complete braking system checked before refitting or upgrading components.
Browse by Category
If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.
Brakes — Brake components are renewed to restore stopping performance, address wear or upgrade a Porsche for fast road or track use. Common symptoms include vibration under braking, increased stopping distances, squealing, pulling to one side, warning lights and visible wear to discs and pads.
- Check whether parts are OE-equivalent or performance upgrades and follow the bedding-in guidance supplied with discs and pads.
- Confirm if fitting kits and wear sensors are required or included for your specific Porsche application.
Performance Friction Brakes — Performance Friction brakes are selected for serious track and racing applications where consistent friction and low taper wear are required; conventional systems may show uneven wear, fade and cracking on demanding circuits.
- Review supported Porsche applications and whether pads and discs are specified as matched systems or as separate components.
- Choose pad compound and follow recommended bedding procedures appropriate to your driving style and usage.
Giro Slotted Brake Disc — Giro slotted discs are chosen where drivers want performance braking, improved pad cleaning and heat management from a distinctive slotted pattern; OE discs may glaze pads and lose bite after repeated heat cycles.
- Confirm Porsche fitments and whether the discs are directional, and follow any advised running-in procedure.
- Check compatibility with original calipers and selected pad compounds for your intended road or track use.
Giro Drilled Brake Disc — Giro drilled discs are typically selected for improved cooling characteristics and a motorsport-inspired appearance compared with standard plain discs, which may run hotter and develop heat spots.
- Verify that drilled discs are compatible with your Porsche’s original calipers and that the design (cast or drilled after casting) suits your intended use.
- Check local regulations and any guidance on pad compound choice and disc direction per side.
Replacement for Ceramic Disc — These discs replace expensive OEM ceramic rotors with alternative solutions when originals are worn or damaged; ceramic discs can chip, crack or reach minimum thickness after hard use, making replacement essential.
- Confirm whether the replacement is ceramic, iron or hybrid, and ensure compatibility with original calipers, pads and vehicle systems where specified.
- Follow the recommended running-in procedure and check any implications for road legality in your region.

Fits:
This is a 350mm Upgrade with spacers & hardware
Porsche 991 C2S
Porsche 991 C4S
Porsche 981 Boxster Spyder
Kit Contains:
Brake Disc 350MM complete with centre bell.
Brake Disc Type: 2-Piece Slotted
The Girodisc brake rotor is a direct replacement for the OE discs, and provides significant performance benefits. The rotors are compatible with any of the current pads typically used with these cars.
Additional information:
Braking Performance: The rotor is a two-piece design developed in racing to produce a lightweight rotor that can compensate for the different expansion rates between the hat and rotor and eliminate the possibility of rotor warping.
The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, which allows for axial and radial float.
More heat sink without a weight penalty: The Girodisc disc set weights in a little lighter than the OE system but with an important advantage. The rotors have grown in diameter. This means that weight has been transferred from the center hat were it does nothing to the outer diameter where it is actively absorbing and dispersing heat.
High Quality Materials: The Girodisc system uses only the highest quality materials and components. The rotors are high carbon content iron for long wear and stable thermal performance. The top hat section is machined from billet aluminum with an attractive anodized finish.

Titanium Brake Pad Heat Shields.
This Product Fits:

Porsche 997 Turbo 06>> Rear
Porsche 997 GT3 06>> Rear
Porsche 997 GT3 RS 06>> Rear
The problem of brake fluid boiling is simply traced to heat transferring from the rotors and pads directly into the fluid through the caliper pistons. When brake fluid boils, it releases air that is normally part of the molecular structure of the fluid. This air is compressible of course, and the brake pedal goes to the floor instead of moving the caliper pistons. Production cars tend to suffer from this on track days more as they don't usually have the extensive cooling duct and exotic brake materials as true racing cars. True racing only brake calipers generally come with titanium caliper pistons for one reason. Titanium as a material has low thermal conductivity. This means that it is very bad at transferring heat, which is fantastic if you are trying to keep your fluid cool.
The Girodisc solution to help prevent fluid boiling is to use a thin titanium shim placed between the pad back and the pistons, to keep the braking heat from transferring into the pistons and fluid. Here is a comparison of materials and their relative thermal conductivity ratings:
Titanium 6AL-4V 6.7 W/mk
Steel 52 W/mk
Aluminum 130 W/mk
You can see that Titanium will transfer far less heat than steel and especially aluminum. For cars that are going to see hard or multiple track days, these shims are cheap protection from losing the pedal due to boiling at the wrong time and making the day very expensive.
Water jet cut to exact size, no cutting, grinding, or swearing involved.
Price is per axle (four pieces)

Kit Contains:
Brake Disc 325MM complete with centre bell.
Brake Disc Type: 2-Piece Drilled & Slotted
