GTN
GTN for Porsche
The original, classic Porsche folding roof has caused more annoyance than joy in the past, both at Urwerk 1:1 and at GTN-Automotive. The high standard of seeing their customers happy and enthusiastic in the long term has often been diminished by the reworking of the old original folding roofs, as these were once again a cause for concern after just a few years. High wind noise and major sealing problems are the most frequently cited problems, not to mention fractures in the magnesium casting of the roof frame legs. Repairing the Porsche Targa roof is complex and the necessary new parts are very expensive. Perfect adjustment sometimes takes days of repeated driving tests.
A Quick Look at GTN
GTN information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where GTN is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector type where relevant.
- Typically chosen where owners want straightforward replacement or upgrade parts to restore function and improve day-to-day reliability on older Porsche models.
- Common issues these parts address include noises, looseness, leaks, and intermittent operation when related wear items or set-up steps have been missed.
- When repairing, consider renewing related seals, fixings, and adjustment hardware at the same time to avoid repeat faults.
- Always confirm exact fitment against your VIN and address the underlying cause of the original failure before installing new parts.

Chassis / Bodywork — Chassis and bodywork components are used to repair accident damage, tackle corrosion, or carry out restoration and modification work while keeping the Porsche shell straight and safe. Common problems include rust in sills and jacking points, bent rails after impacts, and misaligned panels from previous repairs. Common checks include confirming if panels are genuine or pattern parts, whether they arrive e-coated or bare metal, how they are fixed (weld-on or bolt-on), any left-hand/right-hand drive differences, and how they are packaged for transport.
Roof - Cabrio / Targa / Coupe / Speedster — Roof components for different Porsche body styles restore weather protection, structural rigidity, and quiet operation. Owners typically replace worn seals, stretched fabrics, cracked panels or tired mechanisms to eliminate leaks, wind noise and poor alignment, or to convert/upgrade the roof configuration. Typical issues include water leaks, wind whistles, noisy or slow operation and general age-related deterioration of seals and fabrics.
Targa — Targa-specific parts such as panels, seals, latches and trim are used to bring back the characteristic open-air feel while keeping the cabin dry and quiet. They are usually replaced to tackle hardened seals, misaligned panels, rattles and water ingress around the roof bar, or to refresh classic detachable tops that no longer fit or latch correctly.
Exterior Styling / Spoilers — Exterior styling parts and spoilers let Porsche owners update the look of the car, repair damaged trim, or aim for a particular OEM or motorsport-inspired style. They are typically changed to replace cracked or poorly fitting pieces, address rattles or water ingress around add-on parts, or to achieve a specific aero or visual effect. Many items require preparation and painting, so test-fit before finishing and check whether extra brackets, drilling or adjustments are needed.
Hardtop & Targa Tops — Hardtops and Targa tops improve refinement, security and year-round usability for Porsche cabriolet and Targa models. They are replaced when existing tops suffer from leaks, wind noise, worn seals, rattles, cloudy rear windows or damaged panels, or when owners want a stiffer, more coupe-like driving feel. Correct sealing profiles, latching and model/year compatibility are key, and careful handling and storage help prevent new damage.

In the period from 1967- up to Summer 1985, Porsche produced all Targas with claw locks. Unfortunately, the claw lock or the thin sheet metal in which it engages is not permanently dimensionally stable, which means that damage can occur. We solve this problem with an adapter set that converts the claw closure of all Porsche Targa models from 1967- up to Summer 1985 to a roller closure.
This not only protects the windscreen frame from deformation and makes it easier to fit the GTS-TOP using the roller lock, but also prevents water from penetrating the tubular frame.
The GTS-Top is made of innovative and advanced materials, for example: extremely lightweight and highly robust carbon fiber (CFRP) for the frame, with Makrolon glass, hard anti-scratch coating, stainless steel fasteners with Teflon bushings and modern EPDM seals. It is 2kg lighter than the already light original one.
Specifications:
Carbon-Composite High-Tech Framework
Stainless steel roll latches and 5-pins with Teflon bushing
High-Tech nano coated Makrolon window (Antistatic and Anti-scratch coating)
Exterior:
Colour of window tint : Green
Interior:
Frame: matt-black structure paint
(Optional: Visible Carbon, Alcantara, Leather, or Painted)
Fits
Porsche 911 1967- up to Summer 1985
**Please note the bag is not included cost is £175.00 extra.
